NSA hosted his counterpart from UK Mr. Jonathan Powell in New Delhi on 23 April 2026 for the annual India-UK Strategic Dialogue.
They had wide ranging discussions on advancing the India-UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, including strengthening defence and security cooperation. They also exchanged views on regional and global security challenges.

We discussed strengthening India–UK cooperation to advance a free, open, and rules-based Indo-Pacific, including collaboration under the Maritime Security pillar of the Indo-Pacific Oceans Initiative (IPOI) and the proposed Regional Maritime Security Centre of Excellence (RMSCE).

Began Day 2 at #CFAMM26 with a meeting with @CPJElmore, UK Minister for Latin America, Caribbean & Multilateral at @FCDOGovUK. We discussed strengthening India–UK cooperation and working with partners to advance Commonwealth reforms, enhance its relevance and efficiency, and collaborate on the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow 2026 and India’s hosting in 2028.

During the #CFAMM26 Minister’s Meeting, welcomed the positive reform momentum in the @commonwealthsec under @SGCommonwealth Shirley Botchwey, appreciating efforts to enhance transparency and introduce a forward-looking agenda.
Also supported #28thCHOGM reforms for being more focused and outcome-oriented and reaffirmed India’s commitment to working with members to strengthen the Commonwealth’s effectiveness.

Today we proudly celebrated the first anniversary of the Consulate General of India, Manchester, which also coincided with the spirit of International Women’s Day.
We are deeply grateful to the Indian diaspora and community for their constant support and encouragement. A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful artists who enriched the evening, Kathak Guru Kajal Sharma, Veena player Dr Apurna Jaganathan, and Shweta Vyas for her soulful rendition of Vande Mataram.
