Governor Uba Sani has awarded the contract for the reconstruction of the busy Command Junction to Stadium Roundabout Road to the reputable construction company, Mothercat Nigeria Limited.
The project aims to improve traffic flow and infrastructure on the busy road, which has garnered a lot of attention from road users.
Mothercat Nigeria Limited has already mobilized its team and equipment to commence work at the site today.

BREAKING: NORTHWEST GROUP GIVES PLAUDITS TO UBA SANI FOR 'SIX ACTIONS

The Northwest Democrats Assembly (NDA) has commended Governor Uba Sani for his transformative leadership, citing six key initiatives that have transformed Kaduna State.

The group, at a Press Conference in Kaduna on Friday hailed Governor Sani's strategic vision, which has attracted significant investments, empowered youth, promoted gender equality, addressed climate change, ensured food security, and championed disability inclusion.

"Governor Sani's Smart City Project, valued at $150 million, is set to create 100,000 direct jobs and 500,000 indirect jobs, bolstering the state's economy. Additionally, the State Skills Development Council has been established to equip youth with vital skills for employability and entrepreneurship", the group explained.

The group said in order to promote gender equality, Governor Sani signed the Gender-Responsive Procurement Policy, ensuring women-owned businesses have equitable access to government contracts. It said the move strengthens Kaduna's economic fabric and empowers female entrepreneurs.

They went on to say that Kaduna State has also taken a leading role in climate action, ranking second nationwide for its comprehensive environmental policies. It said the initiative, focuses on reducing carbon emissions and promoting renewable energy.

"Furthermore, Governor Sani's administration distributed 15,000 metric tons of fertilizer to farmers, significantly boosting agricultural productivity and ensuring food security for the state's citizens.

"We are also excited that in another groundbreaking move, Governor Sani has championed disability inclusion, collaborating with NGOs to ensure equal opportunities and integration for persons with disabilities."

Khadija Mohammed Bello, Coordinator of the Northwest Democrats Assembly, then said, "Governor Uba Sani's multifaceted approach to governance reflects his dedication to creating an inclusive, prosperous, and sustainable Kaduna State. We urge all stakeholders to support and build on these initiatives."

The assembly's endorsement is the latest in a series of accolades for Governor Sani's developmental strides, solidifying his reputation as a visionary leader.

I join my brothers and sisters to strongly protest the use of the Hijab (Niqab) in an upcoming Nigerian movie produced by one Ms. Bolanle Ayo. The Hijab is an outfit deeply attributed to Muslim women that symbolizes respect, modesty, and religious devotion. And, I believe it should not be used as a mere costume in a movie, especially when the scenes it portrays are clearly associated with negative moral vices.

Using the Hijab in such scenes is a profound disrespect to our mothers, sisters, and daughters. This garment is a symbol of respect, and portraying it in a manner that suggests otherwise is offensive to those who wear it for religious purposes.

The producers of this movie should have considered alternative costumes, such as balaclavas or masks, for such scenes. For us, the Hijab (Niqab) is not worn by our women to hide their identity to commit crimes but to respect, follow, and abide by the teachings of our religion.

I join well-meaning Nigerians in calling on the producers of this movie to respect our religion and remove all the scenes where the Hijab is portrayed negatively. We also urge the National Film and Video Censors Board (@nfvcbng) to censor these hurtful scenes to protect the dignity of those who wear the Hijab.

We hope that our concerns will be addressed promptly and appropriately.
