In 2025, Michigan House Republicans will hold oversight hearings to hold Dana Nessel, Jocelyn Benson, and Gretchen Whitmer accountable.
Merry Christmas to all. And to all a good night.
Christ the Savior is born.
@GovWhitmer You are just a fucking joke 600m no jobs, early christmas present? You have devastated this state, ranked 46 of 50 as worst governors. Keep going sure you can go down a few notches before Dec 31
This. Everyone needs to understand this.
@SenAricNesbitt was a General in battle Thursday through Friday and the state of Michigan will be better off because of the fight he led.
Those who know me know how rare it is that I give full, unqualified praise for Republican politics. Usually because I want us to fight more.
But in the Senate this week I can confidently say our leadership asked us to show up and fight with everything we had. So we did. For almost 30 hours on the floor, we made the Democrats fight for every inch of ground. Eventually they threw in the towel, and the list below shows a sample of bad policies that were prevented.
Lastly, some have commented that bad bills still passed. Yes, that's true. Through Dec 31st Democrats still control both chambers of the legislature and the Governor's office. Losing the house made them desperate to use their final days of trifecta power to push through HUNDREDS of terrible pieces of legislation, all of which would have been very difficult to undo. One week ago the outlook was incredible bad.
"It could have been worse" is rarely reassuring. But in this case, it really is important to understand that it could have been SO MUCH WORSE. And to be proud of the work done.
State Sen. Ruth Johnson blasts @GovWhitmer in Christmas jingle: “If a certain governor wants to be President, I’d stop passing bills pissing off residents.”
