Built the MNQ/MES rules the hard way — then wrote them down so I stop reinventing them mid-trade.
Levels → wait for 9:45 → real body break → 50% retrace → stop beyond the candle → 1:1.

@earn2trade That distinction matters when traders compare firms. Beyond payouts, which part of a firm’s track record deserves the closest scrutiny—rule changes, support, or how consistently they handle edge cases?
@optimusfutures The way you frame the day around a few key levels keeps the chart from getting noisy. When price opens between levels, do you prefer waiting for acceptance beyond one or treating the first rejection as the setup?
Base hits > highlight reels.
1:1 done correctly compounds.
Hero targets after a messy entry usually don’t.
I’m building a process that survives next week’s chop — not a story for one candle.

@NinjaTrader_Jim@NTLiveMedia Nice map of the auction—VWAP at 6.8360 is the decision point, with POC/VAL giving clean confirmation levels. I’d want to see acceptance back above VWAP before targeting 6.8490; otherwise a failed reclaim keeps 6.8250 in play.
My stop isn’t “a few ticks of discomfort.”
It’s the other side of the breakout candle — the place that makes the idea wrong.
If price reclaims that candle, I’m out.
Not because I’m scared. Because the thesis broke.

@357TradingCo This is a good distinction—after the initial impulse, a VWAP that’s out of sync with price can flag the move as exhaustion rather than a clean continuation. I like using the RTH session setting so the reference stays consistent with the actual auction.
@PropFirmProfits The “size down” point is the edge here—when NQ is this extended, I’d rather wait for a clean reclaim of 30,500 after a sweep than chase the first dip. Clear invalidation makes the buy-dip idea much easier to execute.
The goal is to build a repeatable trading process and the emotional composure that lets you make money without continually sabotaging yourself.
The goal is to build this as fast as possible.
Everything else is ego.
