Our campaign to decriminalise abortion in Queensland is supported by more than 70 expert medical, legal and community groups and peak bodies #QLDforChoice
Abortion law reform occurred in Tasmania over 5 years ago. Instead of attempting to repeal the law (which they don’t have the votes to do), the Liberal government are erecting as many barriers as possible. Shame on you @WillHodgman and @TasLiberal.
New surgical provider of abortions in Tasmania fails to meet end of October deadline but will open next month - once a fortnight services. The cost to low income women? $475 @CatherineKingMP https://t.co/0LiekxmwoL
Reproductive coercion is insidious, and it *is* domestic violence. Any campaign or organisation that doesn't take a strong stance on reproductive rights can't purport to be working towards the ending of domestic violence. https://t.co/5yRpC3oVbk
Love seeing our local bridges beaming with purple light to celebrate the passing of our bill to decriminalise abortion.
We’re keeping them lit up right across the weekend so make sure you go check them out 💜 #Qldpol@Labor4ChoiceQld

SAAAC Media release: 1/6
Abortion decriminalised in Queensland. South Australia next? Last night the Queensland parliament passed a bill to decriminalise abortion. This essential health service now remains a crime in only two states: South Australia and New South Wales.
Today we wake to a new Qld. 1 where women have the right to choose their health outcomes. We know this is the result of the ongoing work of many, many people incl. @childrenXchoice@ProChoiceQLD Gr8 work Beryl Holmes, Bonny Barry & all members of parliament to achieve this vote.
@SenClaireMoore@childrenXchoice 💜 thank you so much, Claire 💜
you are an amazing advocate, and we were so lucky to fight alongside you on their crucial reform!
Thank you Beryl Holmes, who campaigned for this for 46 years, thank you to her creation @childrenXchoice who have campaigned for nearly as long, thank you @FairAgenda, @ProChoiceQLD, Young Qld’ers for the Right to Choose and every person who worked so hard to get us to this day.
We're sure you've heard by now, but the Bill passed 50 votes to 41!!!!! For every email you've sent, every phone call you've made, every rally you've attended, every friend you've helped - thank you. YOU made this happen 💜
