I welcome the Palliative Care Commission, with some fabulous commissioners. But where is the nursing voice? Of 21 commissioners why 10 medical doctors and only 1 person with a nursing background? #hpm#hapc#nursing@alisonleary1@theRCN

Good @trentconsultant recognises PAs play an important role. Complex healthcare needs a range of skills. Doctors cannot do it all. P As have care delegated to them and work under supervision from doctors therefore offering a solution to ever rising demands.
Huge admiration for @KirstyWark The predictable “it’s all woke” commentary has begun but as is often the case with cases such as these, it’s the older women speaking in defence of younger people which shifts the dial.
Retain older women in broadcasting.

Last night, I had a chat with ChatGPT. I'm still not sure what to make of it...
Here's how it went. Abbreviations are my only edits.
Me: Hi ChatGPT
What can you tell me about Dr Kathryn Mannix?

We’re introducing the Tobacco and Vapes Bill to protect the public, NHS and economy from the harms of smoking.
Our plans include banning smoking outside schools, children’s playgrounds and hospitals.

"The Health Secretary has acknowledged that the way that hospices are funded at the moment is not working. We'd urge him to now act to put hospices onto a fairer financial footing."
Hospice UK's Charlie King is at the BBC today making the case for hospice sector funding reform.
Here's our last parody song about the #USElection2024. It's called "Bohemian Trumpsody" (based on the inimitable @QueenWillRock but with only six voices & no overdubs) & we've self-trolled in it as 'libtards' already, just to save folks time who might be offended 🎶🗳️🤞

It was very good to be in the House of Lords yesterday to participate in the debate on funding of hospices, and listen to expert perspectives. Palliative and end of life care services provide essential and high-quality care, and it is vital that they are resourced sufficiently to continue to do so. This must be our immediate action before we even consider a change in the law on assisted suicide.
Very few people realise that the vast majority of hospice and palliative care is provided by charity - not by the NHS.
I think this is a national scandal.
Please RT if you do too 🙏
In this interview with @skynewsniall, Dr Rachel Clarke (@doctor_oxford) emphasises the need to prioritise quality end of life care.
Regardless of Parliament's decision on assisted dying, fixing the funding of our struggling hospice and end of life care system is essential.
