At this year’s L.A. Times Festival of Books, we’re not just celebrating stories—we’re sharing our own.
When wildfires hit Los Angeles earlier this year, @SavetheChildren and @ProjectCampLA created safe, trauma-informed spaces where kids could play, process, and begin to heal. Books, games, and simple moments of joy became powerful tools in helping children feel like kids again.
This weekend, Save the Children is proud to be the official charity partner of the festival—shining a light on how partnerships like ours bring learning, hope, and resilience to children impacted by crisis across the U.S.!
A huge thank you to the incredible teams at @ProjectCampLA & @SavetheChildren for prioritizing childcare as vital support for families recovering from the LA fires.
Project:Camp LA provided four weeks of camp and over 10,000 hours of free, trauma-informed care for children impacted by the fires, offering kids a safe space to heal while giving parents the time to start rebuilding their lives. Childcare is critical infrastructure for families and is essential to the well-being of our communities, especially during a crisis.
This is #CALoveCAStrong in action. 💙💪
