What good is a solid mechanic if the game still feels flat the moment players get their hands on it? 🤔

I understand and that's why this is such a sneaky issue, cause on the surface, it might seem like a win / win for both parties.
But in practice, what inevitably happens is that your business model changes to one where MTX become a core revenue pillar and now as a developer you're required to make the MTX stuff feel valuable, which automatically means that the items the player can collect in game have to be a tad less valuable.
So over time, you are literally making your game worse because you're now required to nickel and dime people and what's even worse is that you're conditioning people on the fact that they should play less and pay more, which again, ultimately leads to them just not playing at all at some point.
This is why we never cared that much about consistently high CCU's at Moon. We don't sell MTX, so we're not required to constantly have a super high number of players playing at all times.
I'd rather have us be artists and creative geniuses who work hard on something truly special where we then get to celebrate a meaningful release every once in a while, which usually makes our sales skyrocket for some time anyway.
I'd much rather do that instead of constantly having to put something out there in this drip-feed manner just to keep players jonesin constantly.
Good things take time. And there's real danger that if your business model is dependent on you putting stuff out there every 4, 6, 8 weeks, etc., you'll constantly make small things happen, but you'll never have enough time to really change the way things work fundamentally in order to push things forward.
And if you don't do that, others will.
this was 49 years ago... all these racist white kids in this video are 55-75 today. they run the country, run the judicial system, are police chiefs, etc. let that marinate bro.
Added sword Telekinesis! Teleport to your sword after flying it behind your enemies' back.
The sword flying and teleportation are separate mechanics, so you can TP wherever the sword currently is. I'll show what other tricks can be done once I have enemy AI.
