People just want to believe oil can't go higher, even though it hasn't made a new nominal high since like 2008
It's the first thing you get windfall taxes on, it's what every government wants to manage
So that's why it's always so absolutely hated no matter the circumstance
It also means that virtually everybody is blind to this time really being different
I think week after week of record draws during peak driving season will be...instructive
And I think crude will eventually make not only new nominal highs, but new inflation adjusted highs
This doesn't mean you should be long oil futures - they've taken great pains to remove every single speculator from the futures market - but I do think some producers offer good risk/reward
Anyway, the question of the crude price is really just "how long can civilization bullshit and delude itself until fundamental realities matter"?
@AesPolitics1 Yeah, because Democrats have budgets, spending, productivity, and inflation nailed down. Blue city lower and middle classes are thriving. 😂
@SteveNomadic I've sat right seat to plenty of young captains at United. You're holding a bias for a stereotype that doesn't actually exist. 99% know they're fortunate.
You promote a negative stigma that hurts our perception because you think you're too good to join a new senority list.
