@mark_li20 The question about what is exactly is the “right thing” is a very good point, and I thought that it couldve been explored more. I think that is the defining feature of the flim.
@Bryan469274128 That last line is so true, it’s specifically saying that everyone is and can be a racist. The movie implies thats its also inevitable and seemingly unstoppable
I generally am not an avid movie watcher, so the cinematic themes didn’t necessarily affect me as much as the rich dialogue, but the wit and characterization of the conversations created a sense of foreboding and of forestalling eventual conflict… #Media1D02
The movie was a masterpiece of dialogue, throughout every single conversation there is a subtext of wit and subtlety that brings the feels from the movie to a different level. I felt seriously depressed by the amount of open racism expressed by everyone equally. #Media1801D02
@SanjidaK05 I disagree. Regulation and things being illegal are not the same. Empowering a government agency to ensure data privacy just means the government will get the data. The issue of data mining and selling is very important, but fundamentally should not be conflated into the FCC.
@pppppyq06 Exactly, freedom of speech should be extended as much as possible to the internet, and the FCC regulations will be the first step towards curbing it.
I believe the less regulation on the internet the better. Keeping it as a massive and as free as possible service. TV needed regulators when it came into existence. If tv was created today, it wouldnt be as regulated, just like streaming isnt as regulated as TV. #Media1801D02
@SanjidaK05 The implied connection between one and their pet, is used as a pathos to lead one to think that a materialistic thing such as a car can bring one the same feeling of connection. I wonder if it is actually effective. Do people actually think of cars as close friends or the such?
@mark_li20 The ad is very effective in demonstrating the diversity in the cuny system. Diversity which is unmatched across the United States. But, it is also targeting a specific socioeconomic sector of the population. A sector that has to worry about debt because of the limitations.
https://t.co/sdVGBcaBal This ad is supposed to reach people that do not watch the sport of baseball. The idea is to cross the lines of sports fans and promote appreciation of the extraordinary accomplishments of Derek Jeter’s career. It is not a traditional ad. #Media1801D02
@Mayapellitteri I agree. The ability for multicultural conversations which social media advanced, is a huge factor in the continued advancement of communications across the world.
@dvictoriacas@karla_lazala This point is very good, so many scandals nowadays are driven by social media, and alot of counter culture movements are only able to take root because of the expansive presence of social media.
The principle of freedom is directly correlated with free speech. Social media at its core, is a construct that is supposed to help activate the right to free speech of every person. In reality, corporations and government uses social media to spy and manipulate. #media1801D02
