The High Court's order has been challenged in the Supreme Court by Ms. Uzma Khan through Advocate Uzair Bhandari, seeking Imran Khan's transfer to Shifa International Hospital, Islamabad, for his complete medical check-up, access to his personal physicians, family and counsel and provision of information regarding his health to his family. Her application seeking permission to file the petition bears CMA Number 1696 of 2026. It was heard by a 3 member bench on 18 June 2026. it was ordered that Ms. Uzma Khan's petition be heard along with the petition filed by Mr. Imran Khan himself against the same order of the Islamabad High Court. Mr. Imran Khan's petition has now been allotted Crl.PLA Number 1370/2026, after the order dated 31 July 2026 whereby Yahya Afridi, CJ, overruled the objections raised by the office of the Supreme Court. Both cases have been ordered to be fixed together, *since they challenge the same order of the High Court.

We therefore demand that the cases be fixed before an appropriate bench on a most urgent basis and request the court to direct that Imran Khan be immediately shifted to Shifa International Hospital for a comprehensive examination, diagnosis, and appropriate treatment of his eye condition in consultation with his private physicians and with access to his family.

Since the executive has failed in this regard, it is now the responsibility of the judiciary to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of Imran Khan while he remains in custody. Any delay in providing him with proper medical care could have serious consequences, and the matter must therefore be treated with the utmost urgency.

On the 3rd anniversary of Imran Khan's imprisonment, a key question is whether this move was helpful to the country. #Pakistan has had some foreign policy successes. But are Pakistanis and the country better off than they were 3 years ago? The answer is clearly no. The economy is in unsustainable peril and the government is desperately searching for financial rescue. #Baluchistan is in full insurgency mode. Pakistan-Administered #Kashmir is wracked with violence. The same is true of #KhyberPakhtunkhwa. Even in foreign policy there are setbacks: relations with #Afghanistan and #India are worse. Overall the situation is dire and a re-set is required. And that must include internal reconciliation.
