In light of the discussions held at the National Medical Commission and the issues brought forward on 16/03/2026, the Commission has issued a clarification addressing the concerns raised.
This marks a significant achievement for Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs) in India and abroad.
The All India Medical Students’ Association & its Foreign Medical Students’ Wing (AIMSA-FMSW)extends its sincere gratitude to the NMC_BHARAT for considering the demands and issuing the clarification at the earliest.

An MBBS doctor who clears FMGE proves competence, yet new notices keep targeting FMGs while NEET PG seats are filled even with negative marks. This double standard must stop.
NMC should withdraw this notice immediately.

Was it a crime to dream of becoming a doctor? Was it our fault that COVID happened and forced classes online?
We cleared NEET, met NMC eligibility, completed our degrees & passed FMGE. After investing 7+ years, why punish us with 2–3 more years?

FMGs are not asking for favours. We are asking for the same treatment as Indian graduates. We cleared the same exams. We have the same qualifications. Don't let a bureaucratic notice destroy a generation of doctors. #WithdrawNMCNotice
Every year some notice comes out just to put FMGs into trouble, like we didn’t have any problem already. Put transparency this way, give same notice for IMGs who were studying online during COVID, tell them to complete two years of internship @NMC_IND#withdrawNMCnotice
During COVID, the whole world shifted online, including IMGs in India. Why is @NMC_BHARAT only penalizing FMGs with 'compensation certificates' and 2-year internships? Stop harassing Fmg's #JusticeForFMG#WithdrawNMCNotice
