Doctor Who fans have long feared Fear Her—and not necessarily for the reasons the episode intended. But what if the scariest thing about Fear Her is that it’s… kind of fine?

@David_Kitchen_@theDWshow When removed from the “is it welcoming to new viewers” question, do all the nostalgia and callbacks work better than we remember?
Never understood why Fear Her attracts the hate it gets.
Indifference I can understand, but hate?!
@PullToOpen63 dives in & they have a very fair look at the story!
I'm with @petepachal on this one!
There's about 15 mins of The Big Bang I think are brilliant, but the rest of the 2-parter leaves me utterly baffled, with too many "wanky Smith speeches".
But @PullToOpen63 covered these eps with such enthusiasm maybe I'll have to get it another try sometime soon!
It’s the end of the universe as Moffat knows it, and somehow we feel fine. Join us as we salute The Pandorica Opens and The Big Bang, a fairy-tale finale that might be as good as we remember.

I've often wrestled with how to assess The Leisure Hive, so was interesting to hear @PullToOpen63 grappling with it as well!
So many great aspects, but is it a fun & engaging story? Hmmm not so sure.
In the end some thoughtful conclusions from them!
The Leisure Hive should be a relaxing holiday: a beachside opening and Lalla Ward dressed like she just won regatta season. Instead, we get enough ideas for three serials and enough pacing for half of one.

@David_Kitchen_@PullToOpen63 It's classic McCoy - some great ideas and guest actors, but far, far too much plot and too many characters. The first episode takes forever before the Doctor and Ace reach the circus. The Doctor walking away unflinching when the tent blows up is fantastic, though.
@drwhosline@PullToOpen63 Yeah, as the chaps on @PullToOpen63 note, Reddington does a lot to make this show work.
I think TP McKenna just rocks up & gives the usual TP McKenna performance, & I don't get the Captain Cook character.
I know people who have this in their top 10, but it's never clicked for me.
Lots of ideas I like, some good design, a couple of GREAT performances (& some bad ones... TP) but doesn't come together for me.
If ever there was a Prof Hayter score @PullToOpen63, GSITG is it for me!
Come one, come all to The Greatest Show in the Galaxy—where the audience kills, the clowns are robots, and the Doctor is close to becoming one himself. Keep your hands inside the clown car at all times.
