@magicspeedwagon It's perfectly healthy for people to unpack their preferences on their own time. It's a net negative to have these public displays in lieu of ally-ship. Sexual boundaries are so loaded with stigma/shame/trauma and I don't think it's right to just dig around.
@magicspeedwagon 💯People keep refusing to engage in critical thinking when it comes to how media narratives are shaped and cultivated in regards to detransition.
@RadPax And what if it did make us ugly? Why does everyone feel so entitled and insistent that we shape our appearance for their consumption? We don't exist for the viewing pleasure of others. (rhetorical question i know why)
@moon_dancer97@supermoe1985 Because there is no transmasculine patriarchy, there never has been. Trans men and mascs as a demographic are heavily invested and involved in dismantling misogyny, sexism and patriarchal systems.
@etotheitauis1@caninecadaver idrc if you personally would find it offensive or not, it'd be a disgustingly misogynistic statement in ANY context. Promotion of anti-feminist and misogynistic sentiment is explicitly harms transmasculine interests as a group.
@w1rtouthegarden Non-conforming gender expression is queer even if the person is exclusively heterosexual. Like trans* as a really big umbrella includes crossing the boundaries of sex and gender norms. It also really depends because it's in conversation with socio-cultural context.
@ElfOntheHelf@AGDFNAF@prinkasusa You can change your mind at any time. Agreeing to do do X doesn't mean you have to keep doing X if you're not having fun or want to stop for any reason.
@jirachytft@NightOwl157 Hormones also doesn't work instantaneously. We have to live in the bodies we have and cultivating neutrality or positivity about those bodies isn't in conflict with medical transition.
@dogstrdr @therapatical@gambitbussie I think a lot of people are only kinda paying attention at the doctors office and then don't do any further research to take responsibility. It's scary how ignorant people are about sexual health.
@drildevil@_lagomorphique@DesiresAreGrey Why and how are you connecting this bluesky post to anything to do with that email exchange?? They are not related, it's a different person, on a different platform, just talking about some of his experiences with alienation from community.
@_lagomorphique@DesiresAreGrey The exchange is vile and dehumanizing to multiple demographics at once. Also, a demographic being dismissed as 'too ugly and disgusting to rape' doesn't actually mean they are protected from that victimization.
@PhoenixAvatars @trashdollll Understanding the holistic bisexual experience can't just be extrapolated from straight and gay experiences. There is prejudice that specifically targets bi+people. The liminality leaves bisexuals vulnerable to exclusion from multiple directions.
@therapatical Like, the way I see it this is part of how erasure functions against us. The defection to other demographics is so pervasive it makes it really difficult to maintain focus.
@gayspyalex@Kittycake413 Sorry but I need folks that are trans or trans allies to pay a tiny bit of attention to how transphobia has been manifesting against ftm/x demographics over the past decade. Deflecting towards other gender demos is part of the problem.
@gayspyalex@Kittycake413 No, THE central people targeted as predators spreading the trans contagion are FTMs on Youtube. The central focus of ROGD is transmascs infecting adolescent female peer groups. The book does bring up MTFs too but it is not the focus.
@therapatical I support people taking informed risks. There's this disregard that people have their own reasons they accessed those risks as too high and it's not just cause 'they don't want it enough'.
