@jaganmsna Heavily indebted govt buying stakes in private companies is effectively govt funding those purchases using public money. Because that debt is the future tax/inflation for the public. Not many people realize this.
@IronyMeter "Stonks only go up" is so deeply embedded in the mind of new investors that it will take a long gruelling bear market to change that thinking. Most probably it will be a time correction, because the govt cannot afford to have a price correction right now.
@Arjunjain "Build something the institution cannot ignore. The resources will always arrive after the proof."
I am reminded of this scene from Gandhi.

In my opinion, If you spend 1-2 lakh/month today in a metro city for a family of 4 including education and rent/ emi, You would need roughly 8-10 crore by age 60 as a retirement corpus to live comfortably.
But Sandeep Jethwani of Dezerv tells me that inflation, lifestyle creep and unexpected health costs can inflate your retirement expenses much more than you think and 8-10cr is not enough. he says a family of 4 spending 1-2 lakhs per month today need a 40cr retirement corpus in 20 years to maintain a certain lifestyle.
That got me thinking about how the numbers keep getting more and more unattainable and the frustration among the youth is palpable due to lack of jobs and opportunities to grow income.
Whats the solution then ? reduce your expenses, cut lifestyle creep, stop comparison and decide what your definition of enough is.
Thoughts ?
@IronyMeter@ishmohit1@FalakKalyani I don't understand why such good companies don't want to spend a little bit more on their IT budget and get a good UI or website. Same with HDFC. Just baffling to me!
@VEDANJANAM Can you comment on stationary planets? Traditional vedic astrology says slower the planet speed relative to its avg speed, the weaker it is. So stationary should be weakest. But western astrologers say these planets are very powerful because of concentrated energy.
@abadjate Sir, just like people want to send their kids to the "best" (expensive) schools, these investors want to learn from the school of market by paying top buck. Why are you taking away their right to (expensive) financial education?
@kushkatakia Gross electronic exports is a misleading number because it does not tell you the actual value-add within those exports which according to gemini is just 20% of the total exports! Not saying that the comparison is not valid but the gross elec exports number is touted a lot.
@FalakKalyani Agreed. The real journey looks like this with multiple >50% drawdowns. This is exactly why I see lot of fund managers do not have bulk of their networth in equity or direct stocks to reduce risk.
Both accidents involved
1) Exactly 3 student deaths
2) Single SUV on expressways
3) Most probably caused by human error by the driver
4) In both cases, friends were travelling in a bigger group of 3 vehicles.
What are the odds!
