You will not remember how much money you made throughout your career.
But you will remember every person that kindly opened a career door for you.
Opening doors for others is important and meaningful work. Be a door opener.
The first gift is life. The second gift is good health.
The third gift is to love and be loved. The fourth gift is peace of mind.
There are no other gifts that matter as much.
The fifth gift is having the wisdom to know what to appreciate most.

BREAKING: 🇺🇸 Former U.S. President, Barack Obama:
“We cannot launch military operations to get out of an ideological or technological problem. History has taught us that conflicts in the Middle East are easy to start, but almost impossible to end in an orderly way. We must recognize that peace is not built on rubble, but on a regional architecture that provides stability. We must choose between difficult and persistent diplomacy, or a perpetual regional war that has no winners, only victims.”
Army Chief of Staff fired: THIS IS VERY BIG.
Firing the Army Chief now, and replacing him with a loyalist, is preparation for orders the previous leadership might have slow-walked or resisted.
When you fire a service chief mid-war with no stated cause, the real reason is almost certainly doctrinal disagreement — how the war is being fought. It should be noted that the US started bombing Iranian civilian infrastructure today (Iran's largest bridge).
A career infantry officer like George, who ran the Army's transformation initiative, would have serious institutional opinions about the feasibility and cost of a ground operation in Iran. If he was pushing back — even through internal channels — that's exactly the kind of friction Hegseth would remove.
The likely replacement is Gen. Christopher LaNeve, formerly Hegseth's own military aide — meaning Hegseth is installing a loyalist at the top of the Army during active combat operations against Iran.
Hegseth has now fired over a dozen senior military officers, including Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Gen. C.Q. Brown, Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Lisa Franchetti, Air Force Vice Chief of Staff Gen. James Slife, and the head of the Defense Intelligence Agency Lt. Gen. Jeffrey Kruse.
Bottom line: This is escalatory.
The civilian leadership is systematically removing any institutional brake on military options — this is what the entire purge has been building toward. The George ouster happening simultaneously with Trump's "stone ages" speech is not coincidence. Expect the next two weeks to be the most kinetically intense phase of the war so far.
Two takeaways from Trump's speech:
1. That so many still pay attention to what he says, which has no link to reality or to what he might or might not do; 2. that he so cavalierly threatens war crimes (to bring Iran back to the stone age) on behalf of an unlawful & unjustified war
Pakistan doesn’t have the potential and stature for successful mediation between Iran and US / Isreal . Mediation efforts failing will lead to serious risks / setbacks for Pakistan . These two are popular opinions of last 36 hours ; not only internationally but in domestic media landscape as well. We need to consider following ;-
- both US and Iran have expressed confidence and trust in the foreign ministers of four process led ( informally) by Pakistan. When parties to the conflict trust a mediator , power potential doesn’t remain decisive factor, acceptance attains preference .
- UN , China and many other countries have appreciated and have also expressed hopes from this process setting direction for return to dialogue and end to hostilities . This means a broad based international support for this process .
- ME leadership has acknowledged Pakistan’s relevance with Iran . This is very important in the backdrop of Iranian distrust with other regional players .
- In Ukrain war , many important nation states of Europe and US also repeatedly mediated for an acceptable solution but failed . Has the international community condemned the efforts of those nation states?
- In the case of Pak-Afg current situation , China , Qatar , UAE , Türkiye and KSA consistently mediated but failed to prevent border skirmishes and other military actions . Did anyone in the world impose a penalty or condemned these countries ?
- One can safely assume , in a conflict situation even an insignificant effort by the leadership of a nation state for controlling violence and return to peaceful means for dispute resolution is acknowledged and is also credited to the global stature of such intermediary . Most important factor is - mediation efforts must be initiated , conducted and sustained in ‘ good faith’ which is guiding principle of diplomacy and dialogue . Pakistan established “good faith’ during June 25 war and the same was acknowledged both by Iran and US . That recognition is now a precious asset for the ongoing process .
- Let’s be optimistic and also proud of Pakistan’s role thus far .
What do the happiest, healthiest and longest living people have in common?
It’s not fame, fortune or status. Academic research gives us the definitive answer.
The main conclusion of Harvard's nearly 87-year-long Study of Adult Development (one of the longest studies of adult life ever conducted) is that strong, meaningful relationships are the single most important predictor of long-term happiness, health, and a long life. It’s not wealth, fame, social class, IQ, or even genes that determine well-being as we age—it's the quality of our connections.
