“Parents’ top concerns include before-and after-school care, upgrading old schools and building new ones, meal programs, and maintaining sexual orientation and gender identity resources, known as SOGI 123.” https://t.co/VNWbgb71Ae #bced#bcpoli
Is @VSB39 talking to @CityofVancouver planners? Or any other level of government? We are forecast to welcome hundreds of thousands of new immigrants to address skill shortages. Do they think none of them will have kids? What about al the density planned around Broadway corridor?
Thank you for all of your support @vikkhanna
We are a group of parents fed up with the VSB not putting the interests of our children first. We have filed a petition in the BC Supreme Court, Act No. S231314.
We appreciate any level of support! QEA is the first school of many!
"The Vancouver School Board has incrementally transitioned ... to a place where information is hidden and embargoed, ... and above all, direct, public and clear communication has been lost."

Nelson was part of the @VSB39 mgt team that advised the board to close the Laurier Annex and lease it out in 2017. Now his team has decided to force Ideal Mini to move to Churchill instead of using the annex. Trustees have grounds to lack confidence in mgt advice on this, imo.
Trustee Reddy: "...in the operating budget for next year we gained $17,000 in the operating budget due to the closure of Queen Elizabeth Annex. I am not willing to sacrifice present and future learning opportunities for $17,000 in a $700 million budget.”

QEA is the first of over 20 schools on the VSB's chopping block. Let's stop this and demand transparency and accountability now. We are taking the VSB to court. Join us. This is our children's future.

VSB staff demand loyalty to their nonsensical "data." Trustees must "surplus" QEA due to "declining district enrolment," but move Ideal Mini due to "increasing district enrolment." Yet, trustee Chan-Pedley calls those who question this "non-believers" https://t.co/pCqgMo2sBp
At the 04/11 VSB vote to "surplus" QEA, Trustee Chan-Pedley explained that growth & development don't mean more kids because so many families have to leave the city. Exactly! And a major reason is because trustees, like her, keep closing schools! https://t.co/hCUufDYCgQ
