I love that @ethereum writes an excellent paper that all but rugs the current iteration of ETH2 and my whole time is $ETH to $10k
“With 99.6% probability an adversary with .09% stake can execute a 1-record for any given day”
@matiwinnetou@Yennarosuri And it was my understanding that ethereum does computation completely on chain and the point of zk roll ups was to take that off chain?
@matiwinnetou@Yennarosuri And, isn’t the way that Cardano works that most of the computation is done off chain? There are both on chain and off chain components in PAB.
@matiwinnetou@Yennarosuri Maybe I came across bad information, but I thought zk Rllups addressed computation in account based systems. Excuse me for my ignorance ^^
@stridone @AdrianoFeria Agree. In the end you’ll be worse off for it. Would recommend not engaging with people who inspire toxic / reactionary behavior. It’s a losing strategy, even if you’re on the right side of things.
So we as an industry just agree to collectively stop calling it the Metaverse and come up with a new name right?
Rather than send all the mainstream users corralling into Facebook's clutches...
@kevwuzy Point is, you can tax someone making 100,000 a quarter of their income and it will absolutely affect their quality of life. If you tax a billionaire who is able to throw half a billion dollars at a yacht, he can afford to pay a big tax without his quality of life changing at all
@kevwuzy Sales tax that targets the wealthy. 500,000 million dollars can be enormously productive. If a billionaire decides to buy a house he probably won’t stay in or a yacht, he should pay a hefty tax. Also, public goods funding / eliminate taxes for lowest brackets
@kevwuzy But I agree with the point that we should not try to create equal outcomes. We should accept inequality as a feature of life and even celebrate it (why we watch sports). But we can and should do a few things here and there.
@jacksondame For sure. I suppose observing this cultural discussion we’re having as an “outsider”, it’s my observation that people do take these labels very seriously. Any how, really appreciate you engaging with me. Very happy I got to share this small exchange with you :)
@jacksondame I mean just look at the state of our political discourse. I am inclined to think that humans do not necessarily depend on labels to understand the world, although they may be a provisional convenience when trying to communicate our understandings with each other.
@jacksondame Interesting. It may be the way my particular brain works, but I find labels to be a rather low resolution way of understanding and relating to the world. From what I’ve seen, labels can actually be pretty misleading and make people rely on overly simplistic models of the world.
