Looking for an exciting PhD project or postdoc position? Why not join our team building a quantum gas microscope for ultracold molecules? Watch https://t.co/y90TZHYkkZ for further details. @QSUMproject@DurhamQlm@DurhamPhysics
Update from the @QSUMproject optical tweezers experiment. Our atom number is growing! For the uninitiated, the fuzzy blobs below are images of individual Cs atoms. How cool is that!? Well, the atoms are at about 14 micro-Kelvin! @DurhamQlm@DurhamPhysics
I'm speaking at the SPIE Optics + Photonics Digital Forum next week! Free to register here https://t.co/bisJAVbeh0 and listen to all the great talks. Hopefully next time I actually get to go to San Diego! #quantum#photonics@QSUMproject @SPIEevents @ImperialPhysics@qqq_iop
Update from the @QSUMproject CsYb experiment. We've added a bichromatic optical trap and can now produce dual-species BECs of Yb and Cs. This opens up the study of quantum droplets with @jqcDurNew and @DurhamQlm theory colleagues. @DurhamPhysics
Update from the @QSUMproject microscope project. We've been testing our high NA objective lens by imaging gold nano-particles to extract the PSF (a)-(c). The image in (d) is a simulation of a Rb Mott insulator state. @DurhamQlm@DurhamPhysics
Update from the @QSUMproject RbCs lab. We aspire to great heights on this project and so we've been climbing the rotational ladder. Here are Rabi oscillations on N=0 to N=1. Follow the thread to climb higher! @DurhamQlm@DurhamPhysics
We have an opening for a postdoctoral researcher on our Cs-Yb experiment to study beyond mean-field quantum droplets. Closing date for applications is 20 August 2020. https://t.co/yXRoGVAD9j
Update from the @QSUMproject optical tweezers experiment - species selective loading of single Rb and Cs atoms into separate optical tweezers. Our first step towards making a single ultracold RbCs molecule. @DurhamQlm@DurhamPhysics
Beautiful work from the Ni group! You can read about our closely related measurements using RbCs molecules in Physical Review Letters at https://t.co/N34YGFeDWk
New paper up on the #arXiv today on pump-probe spectroscopy of rubidium at the single-photon level. Check it out! https://t.co/PrLOd92kU4 @QSUMproject@ImperialPhysics@ICFOnians
You can now watch Vincent's presentation on "Quantum LEGO" for the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition at https://t.co/Er73sS6n4z @QSUMproject@DurhamQlm@DurhamPhysics
Not just ‘participating’ - Vincent was runner-up in the Durham competition and is now through to the NE regional final! Very well done! @DurhamQlm@DurhamPhysics
Congratulations to QSUM PhD student Vincent Brooks from Durham for participating in the 3 Minute Thesis Challenge, describing his work towards assembling ultracold RbCs molecules in optical tweezers.
🎉Paper out @PhysRevA led by @GaoHongmin
We show how shaking strongly-correlated fermions in a lattice allows to control the dynamics of spin singlets.
It's a collaboration btw @ERC_Research project Q-MAC & @EPSRC@QSUMproject
