Its time we had 'the talk'. You see, 'the talk' is an ominous name for a coming of age discussion parents have with their kids about a sensitive subject. "The talk" can be about a number of subjects, often sex.

I haven't been on here in a long time, but I'm about to publish a book called Leaf’s Library about binary search.

The new book series is called stem forest. Unfortunately, this account has some un kid friendly elements, so I kind of have to restart with a new alias.

@aeleeds @morallawwithin @calebdward I am familiar. Math is still based on logic, even if the axioms themselves cannot be proven and must be found in some other way.

@DemeoBattles @DemeoGame This is bad. Should be part of the original game. You already made me install the game twice to play it on flat screen. A third time for competitive mode.

Just give us DLC if you need to monetize it again. Otherwise, no excuse.

@AWorsnip @ALogins @xphilosopher That makes sense. I'm a firm believer that philosophers should know basic logic and some foundations of math (even just naive set theory is fine). But as long as they get that, I think its fine.

@morallawwithin Id need to see the exact requirements. Certainly, I feel like a solid grasp of boolean logic (and probably some basic set theory) should be a requirement for any graduate philosophy degree.

On the other hand, Ive never take an explicit logic class, and would hate to be forced to

@RabidMonkies @peterwildeford @Willyintheworld I suspect there just isn't much content in its training set that includes not knowing the answer. So as it predicts word by word, it almost never gives a high probability to admitting it doesn't know.

@lsi1123 @ShriramKMurthi Not so long ago, it was a reasonable idea to come to Texas, elect some local leaders, get more reasonable people in charge. The democrats have gotten within a few percentage points of winning the governorship lately.

But now, its getting really crazy here.

@FukArondFindOut @LGBTActivist I disagree. Prison should be less comfortable than not being in prison, that I will agree with. But it should focus on getting people into a position where they won't commit crime again.

Certainly if being in prison is the only way to get a paying job, that's a huge problem.

@LGBTActivist Yep. I'm fine with jobs for inmates, but they need to be opt in, well paid, and crucially not mandatory to afford basic survival (like, food that isn't rotten, clothing, etc).

@johnniegarza94 @JoaquinCastrotx If you don't know who Scott Aaronson is, he's a big deal in quantum computing and a big reason many students come to our school. Him leaving will hurt the school's reputation quite a bit.

Not to mention the research, which itself is also extremely valuable.

@johnniegarza94 @JoaquinCastrotx Fewer researchers will want to come to Texas now. This will hurt our CS theory group at UT, as new professors would rather work somewhere with better job security. And makes Scott a lot more likely to leave. I think he has tenure, but I don't think my professor, his wife, does.

@sammymasters5 @JoaquinCastrotx Like, we don't ever complain about the national labs researchers for not teaching enough. They do the same thing, but are paid more for it, and often is the SECOND choice if they can't get a job at a university.

@sammymasters5 @JoaquinCastrotx The research is their main job at RESEARCH universities. Teaching is what they do on the side. People come to these universities because they have top researchers. And often most of their funding comes from grants given to them, not the schools.

This seems, illegal, right? I can't just copy someone elses ballot initiative name, make it do the opposite of its description, and then get it on the Ballot, can I? Because that is blatant fraud, right?
