I’ve decided to run for re-election in newly drawn Senate 16 where my house of the last 29 years is now in. Looking forward to representing and fighting for my constituents in Flushing, Bayside, Oakland Gardens and Fresh Meadows. Let’s do this.
Confirmed in a statement: state Sen. Toby Ann Stavisky, @TobyStavisky, all of 82 years old, will be running in District 11. That's a new number, but she lives in the district and has represented much of it for the last decade.
Sen. John Liu, @LiuNewYork, announces he’s running in 16. I’m going to guess this means that @TobyStavisky runs in 11 and @RonTKim stays in the Assembly. But we’ll see.
This horrific and unconscionable attack on children and a teacher in an elementary school is simply devastating. Our nation cannot allow this to continue to happen—this cannot be America. Gun violence is an epidemic and a crisis in our country. We must address it NOW.
I’m so proud to have @NYWFP in my corner as we fight for real, unbought, uncompromised, working-class representation for Long Island and Queens families in #NY03
If you've moved recently and plan to vote in the upcoming June Primary Election, your change of address must be received by June 8, 2022. Update your registration here: https://t.co/2D1hv6AqsL #VoteNYC
.@NYCMayor's recent pick for NYC sheriff floated a 219% loan to his City Council campaign last year.
"The details of the loan payoff ... indicate a tenuous grasp of state statutes for someone charged with ensuring others comply with the law."

The Dems' map (which may or may not reflect the final map - who knows?) looks good for Carolyn Maloney (12) - it would cut out progressive-friendly Greenpoint. and This map also gives AOC (14) some of Westchester for the first time. But still safe for her. https://t.co/bBe4b76oYJ
What's remarkable about the turn of Asian voters to the Republican Party is how little Democratic elites and NGOs want to talk about it. The shift is stunning.

Just hung up the phone with @AdrienneEAdams1 the next NYC Council Speaker. I assured her we will work together for the betterment of the city and our beloved #QueensCounty
Both @AdrienneToYou and @ericadamsfornyc went to Bayside High School at the same time.
A jaunt through the archives shows a very active Adrienne, haven't found Eric yet ...
As a sophomore, Adrienne was captain of the boosters, part of the chorus, member of the G.O...
Councilmember @AdrienneEAdams1 released the 33 Councilmembers who committed their support to her *herstoric* Speakership. 24 are women.
Congratulations! 2022 is looking brighter.
I am honored by all those in the @NYCCouncil who put their faith in me!
This is a moment not just for me, but for all women, women of color, individuals from all backgrounds, and the good people of #NYC!!!
🙌🏾 💪🏾♥️
I am proud to have brought together a broad coalition of leaders from all corners of the city who supported my campaign as the next Speaker of the City Council. At this point, it is clear that I do not have a path to victory.
