52 years to the day after taking over from her father Frederik IX, our Colonel-in-Chief, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe ll of Demark, will abdicate and pass the throne to her first-born son Frederik.
We thank her for her active role and support to our Regiment.

The many items that were lost and found on the #Somme Battlefield offer an illustration of the losses sustained by all nations. For instance, this German Bible, found on July 2nd, 1916, and inscribed ‘from Frank, Sgt L Sullivan’ and this French nameplate which was donated to us.

#OnThisDay in 1918, Private Harvey dashed forwards through heavy enemy fire, after his company’s advance was held up. He single-handedly caused the thirty-seven members of opposition in the enemy dugout to surrender. For his actions, he was awarded a Victoria Cross.

Margrethe II was born on 16 April 1940 at Amalienborg Palace as the daughter of King Frederik IX and Queen Ingrid, born Princess of Sweden.
It is with deep sadness that we received the news of the death of His Royal Highness, Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh. Our sincere condolences go out to Her Majesty the Queen and the Royal Family.
