Ukraine is destroying the financial and physical engine of Russia's war machine
Kyiv's drones just struck one of Russia's largest oil processing hubs, handling 23.5 million tonnes of crude yearly
The economic impact:
Ukraine is forcing Putin to sell cheap raw crude at a loss while importing expensive refined fuel.
Russia's economy is bleeding from the inside out.
AI models are officially controlled by the US
The White House called OpenAI and Anthropic to D.C. today after models escaped their sandbox (isolated test environments) and hacked live servers.
Washington now wants 30-day early access to test advanced models before release...
This accelerates the bifurcation of tech supply chains
For years, tech giants like Microsoft and Amazon used cheap Chinese power and cooling components to build data centers fast
Now, national security concerns are forcing them to replace that hardware with expensive Western gear
Building the AI future just became far more costly, meaning we'll pay more...
The S&P 500 just hit a record 7,600
But the market has never been more disconnected from reality
Big Tech earnings in Nvidia, Microsoft, and Google are pushing stock indexes to all-time highs today.
But beneath the surface, options activity shows big traders are quietly hedging for a crash.
This is not a healthy global economy.
When a handful of tech stocks carry the entire market, the foundation is paper-thin. 🇺🇸📊📉
Infantino got a red card from Europe, so he is calling Trump for a VAR review...
With UEFA boycotting the World Cup, FIFA's chief is begging Washington for survival.
He is betting Trump can overrule the red card and keep him in power
Why U.S. debt keeps growing:
The government spends more money than it collects in taxes almost every year.
To cover the gap, it borrows by issuing Treasury bonds.
That borrowing adds up over time because the U.S. still has to pay interest on previous debt.
An aging population, rising healthcare costs, Social Security, defense spending, and higher interest rates have all made the problem bigger.
The debt didn't appear overnight or under a single president...
It's the result of decades of persistent budget deficits.
Why this matters:
For years, investors borrowed cheap Japanese yen and used that money to buy assets with higher returns like U.S. stocks, Bitcoin and bonds.
It was one of the biggest trades in global markets.
If the yen suddenly jumps, those loans become more expensive to repay.
To avoid bigger losses, investors may rush to sell the assets they bought with borrowed yen.
That's why a stronger yen isn't automatically bullish. A slow recovery is healthy. A sharp spike can force liquidations across global markets.
Strict financial regulations do not protect local capital
South Korea just recorded its 18th straight month of crypto capital flight
$10.4 billion exiting local exchanges
Local traders are converting their Korean won into stablecoins to access overseas stock futures and DeFi
Because regulators blocked these products locally, investors are bypassing the banking system entirely
@cryptorover Why this is happening to Japan:
For decades Japan kept interest rates near zero while printing money to support growth.
That worked until inflation returned.
Now the U.S. offers much higher yields, capital keeps leaving Japan, and investors sell yen to buy dollars.
The illusion of Russia’s economic resilience is officially over
Moscow built its financial strategy around a fast military victory... Big Mistake!
The Kremlin burned $80 billion of liquid reserves and forced domestic banks to absorb 62% of government debt.
Now, 2/3 of their reserves are gone, and corporate bankruptcies are hitting records.
Why this matters:
Russia has zero financial cushions left to absorb the next wave of Western sanctions.
The trap is officially sprung
🚨🇺🇸🇮🇷 LARGE US STRIKE REPORTED IN AHWAZ
Footage from Ahwaz in Iran’s southwestern Khuzestan province shows a large plume of black smoke rising over the city after an apparent strike on an IRGC military site.
Local reports describe the target as an IRGC air-defence base, although the precise facility and full extent of the damage have not yet been independently verified.
The attack comes as US Central Command confirms a new 2 hour operation against dozens of IRGC targets, including command centres, drone infrastructure and air defence sites across Iran.
Explosions were also reported around Ahwaz during the operation.
‼️Khuzestan is strategically important because it hosts a large share of Iran’s oil production and energy infrastructure.
Any sustained campaign against military sites in this province brings the conflict dangerously close to the heart of Iran’s energy system.
