Whales are being harpooned again in Iceland in 2026, despite overwhelming evidence that these hunts cause fear, suffering, and prolonged deaths.

These vulnerable whales are intelligent, social beings who feel pain, form bonds, and fight to survive. They should be protected, not targeted for profit.

"In March, 2026, Chinese activists conducted research on the number of dogs and cats slaughtered for human consumption. I also contributed to this research to a small extent.
The results were startling. The numbers (estimates) are bigger than previously reported, especially by western operators.
The estimated number of dogs slaughtered in China every year is 15-20 million. For cats, the estimated number is 5-8.5 million.
To slaughter dogs and cats for human consumption is illegal. And so is the selling of their meat. Thus, the dog and cat meat trade is illegal. To eat dog or cat meat is legal though'"

In Kenya’s Rumuruti Forest, a one-year-old Elephant named Simotua faced a brutal fate. Caught in a poacher’s snare and stabbed with a spear, he was left to die—alone, crippled, and in agony. His leg was sliced to the bone, and his skull pierced, but somehow, he held on.

Rescuers from the @SheldrickTrust rushed to his aid, freeing him from the trap and flying him to Nairobi National Park for urgent care. There, veterinarians cleaned his wounds, treated infections, and began the long process of healing.

Despite the pain, Simotua’s spirit never broke. Within weeks, he was standing again—taking careful, hopeful steps toward recovery. ❤️‍🩹
