Once a devotee asked Mahaswamigal of Kanchi, why do we keep food for Crows during Mahalayam? Are our ancestors taking forms of Crows? Why do they come as this low bird? Why not a high standard bird?

With a gentle smile Mahaswamigal answered..... We call Crow KaKa in Tamil..... Do we address any other creature by its sound..... ? Do we call cat meow.....? Because a parrot says kiki, do we call it kiki.....? A Crow is called by its sound that makes it special.

Ka means kaapathu or protect me..... so, when you keep food for a Crow and say "kaa kaa", you are asking your ancestors to protect you !

You say a crow is lowly, because it is freely available and it eats anything..... But, let me tell you *a crow is beautiful.*

Why ?

It wakes up at Brahma Muhurtham..... it caws and wakes you up..... even cocks may not wake up on time many days as they are moody..... but, a Crow is on time..... it says "kaka" and wakes you up at Brahma Muhurtham apt to do japam. It is such an amazing guide for pooja no !

Further, it calls other Crows when it gets food..... not seen in other creatures..... teaching humans to share their food.

Then, in the evening before it sleeps, it again says "kaka" to thank God for all that happened that day !

Also, Crows do not eat after sunset which is according to shastras.... how many people follow this ?

Hence, I feel a Crow is not lowly..... it teaches us so much ! Hence, *pitrus come as crows.*

And one more......*keep food for Crows everyday, not only during Mahalayam.*

Crow also teaches *Advaitam !* When a Crow sees the food, you have kept it, it gets happy and eats it ! Seeing it eat, you get happy too ! So, both of you get happy.....*both of you are Bhagawan !*

Are our Sages mad ? Why they guided us to feed Crows, if we have to give it to our ancestors ?

*The sages had strategic consideration.*

This is the real reason.

Have you grown a peepal or banyan tree someday? Have you seen anyone grow it? Can you get seeds of the peepal or banyan tree ?

The answer is no.

Peepal or banyan trees will not grow out of sapling..... because nature has made a separate arrangement for growing these two useful trees !

The seeds sprout only after they have been processed in the gastrointestinal tract of the Crows.

These trees grow, wherever the crows eat it and wherever it does its excretion.

Peepal are the only tree in the world that releases oxygen round the clock and the medicinal qualities of Banyan are also immense !

If these two trees have to survive, it is not possible without the help of Crows. It is in this period, Crows do mating. To get a healthy new generation of Crows, they need to get healthy food. Hence, our ancestors *made a ritual to feed the Crows.*

Next time, you see a peepal or banyan tree or a Crow, remember the intention of our ancestors!

MEA statement on "indentured labour" jibe by U.S. VEEP JD Vance
PATIENCE WITH TRUMP ADMINISTRATION IS RUNNING THIN IN DELHI.

Statement on announcement made by the US Department of Labour
We are aware of the U.S. Department of Labor’s decision concerning the Permanent Labor Certification (PERM) programme for certain companies.

2. It should be noted that PERM is distinct from the H-1B visa programme. The suspension of PERM applications does not, by itself, affect the validity of existing H-1B visas or the status of H-1B visa holders and their dependents, though there could be some impact on the permanent-residency/Green Card process of eligible employees of the affected companies.

3. It should also be clear that talent mobility adds value to both economies. While it creates opportunities for Indians, it equally helps US companies with cutting-edge talent, innovation, research, productivity, competitiveness and job creation, besides creating shareholder wealth in the US. This is therefore an area of tremendous mutual benefit for the two countries and our expectation is that all stakeholders in this process can appreciate this fact. The steps announced by the US do not advance the shared ambitions of both countries.

4. We have also seen some comments in this context by the US Vice President. We believe that such descriptions are unwarranted and ignore the fact that Indian professionals in the United States are highly educated and skilled contributors to its economy and innovation ecosystem. Indeed, the history of the United States itself has been shaped by generations of immigrants whose labour, enterprise and innovation have contributed to its growth and prosperity. Resorting to terminology that carries painful historical and colonial legacy connotations is deeply offensive.

5. We continue to follow developments around this issue.

Dear Elon @elonmusk

You hv certainly stirred up plenty of reaction with ur posts. But this needs a response from me, as did ur “Electronic Voting machines can be hacked” post from some time ago.

As someone who knows a little bit abt Telecom as someone who played a decent-ish role in building Indias wireless sector as an Entrepreneur and then as a policy maker , let me share my thoughts.

It is true that Indias Telecom was a sector beset with opaqueness and corruption for several decades - where cronies ruled under the benevolent love and the politics of ur latest fan (name not withheld - @RahulGandhi )

But under PM @narendramodi , 3 principles govern the tech (including Telecom/Internet) sector.

Open, Safe & Trusted and Accountable.
#OSTA

✅ Open - Free from any monopoly-duopoly. Free and fair competition.

✅ #SafeAndTrusted - Infra, Network , Platforms must be safe and trusted.

✅ Accountable - Every participant should be legally accountable for safety and trust.

I was a MP first and then part of PM @narendramodi jis team when this framework was developed. I have more than a little experience of fighting years of political and bureaucratic opaqueness and corruption, which shaped these principles.
so todays India is not that old crony driven India.

I am not in govt anymore and certainly dont speak for it. But it seems to me that Govt has made it clear: all three satcom licensees are at broadly the same stage of ensuring security clearance by verifying its safety and trust first, then spectrum.

Satellite IP services have many security implications. More so in a country like India which has faced years of Terror and insurgency supported by inmical state actors in our neighbourhood. From 26/11 terror attacks to recent ones in Pahalgam, satcom has been preferred comm for Terrorists. Satellite VOIP and encryption creates more challenges security wise. Not insurmountable but new capabilities and capacity hv to be built to ensure Safety and Trust.

I hv used @Starlink and I think its awesome technology - and represents a new era in mobility innovation. No doubt.

But a country has to plan for itself and its interests before every new choice. Thats what India is doing. Patience is unavoidable and in this case is a necessity.

As the aphorism goes: Believe in yourself before the world does.

In the end analysis it isn't GDP, ART 370, END OF RED TERROR, that alone will mark him out in history. But
MODI will be remembered for MAKING BHARATWASIS BELIEVE IN THEMSELVES. Modi has become the talisman of aspiration.
Today, as he completes 25 years in public office he said as if on cue:
"I have faith in the potential of 1.4 billion Indians. And my 25 years of experience tell me that we will witness India’s development unfold right before our eyes."

TRUMP RECEIVES XI AT AIRPORT. THE WORLD ORDER HAS CHANGED VISIBLY. Optics wrapped up in courtesy aside, the facts too tell a story.
Don't go by the economic ranking based on nominal-dollar GDP.
+ At PPP, China’s 2025 economy was $41.3T vs America’s $30.8T. That is 34% larger.
+ China accounts for 31.8% of global manufacturing, against 15% for the US. That's more than twice America’s share.
+ China exported $3.77T of goods in 2025, against roughly $2.18T for the US.
Nominal GDP puts America ahead. But these metrics reveal China is not merely the second economic pole.
Add to this Trump's expensive wars, immigration policies. Both will impose significant costs on America's capacity to invest and innovate going forward.

PM ANNOUNCES “THE NEXT LEAP”: IS THIS INDIA’S GREAT LEAP FORWARD?

From the Red Fort, PM Modi has laid out an agenda urging India to take the NEXT LEAP.

Manufacturing | Farm-to-export | AI & quantum | 6G | Space | Robotics | Multimodal infrastructure | Defence technology | Green hydrogen | Blue economy | Soft power. IT IS THE WHOLE 11 YARDS!

PM wants 50 Indian companies in the FORTUNE 500. An Indian bank among the world’s top banks. An Indian pharma company among the global top five. Indian technology, consulting, ratings and law firms competing for global leadership.

His framing, his vocabulary, “THE NEXT LEAP”, is interesting. And it inevitably invites comparison with China’s “Great Leap Forward.” In 1958, Mao sought to accelerate China’s transformation.

Of course, INDIA’S AND CHINA’S MODELS ARE FUNDAMENTALLY DIFFERENT.

Mao’s Great Leap model was based on command-driven mass mobilisation of agriculture, industry and the workforce.

PM Modi’s ambition for Bharat is much broader. From Red Fort ramparts Modi is talking about Bharat becoming not merely a economic power but
a moral, intellectual, cultural, strategic one. Recall the words Vishwa Guru, Vishwa Mitra, Vishwa Netra.

In, short this is BHARAT'S time to take a GREAT LEAP AHEAD.

[The Indian Matrix @indianmatrix]

How much of India's infrastructure was built after 2014?

• 100% of Dedicated Freight Corridors
• 98% of Solar Capacity
• 85% of the Expressway Network
• 79% of Tap Water Access
• 75% of Metro Rail
• 71% of Port Capacity
• 69% of Railway Electrification
• 60% of 4-Lane National Highways

Infrastructure is built over decades.
But some decades build more than others.
