If you missed it, here’s the first episode of the video series by @noncoducks!
It features existing characters from the collection with their personal stories (created by the holders) and humorously yet creatively addresses the current issues in the actual NFT model.
Enjoy!
@RealDuckMaster It’s frustrating watching fraudsters run off with peoples money. For what it’s worth, you’re an excellent founder who brings an excellent dynamic and perspective to the table. People don’t ever see the hard work, only the end result. You have REAL people who believe in you. 💪🏼💯
I won't deny the frustration when I see pseudo-influencers raising millions in minutes with a mere "f*ck it send sol here," while it takes me years to complete a mint where all the capital is reinvested into the project. Beyond offering immense rewards for holders, we're creating things that have the potential to disrupt industries forever.
I'm not against trends; the web3 casino can be fun to dabble in. Yet, I thought there was equally an audience for more substantial endeavors.
It makes me wonder if my time here is well spent …
Those who know me understand that as a founder, I tend to avoid controversy. But today, I want to share my thoughts on the @LazyLionsNFT situation and whether a 2021 NFT project without alternative income sources still holds value.
Let's start with a little resume:
1. Community: In the past, a ROAR could get you your first 1,000 followers. Even now, despite challenges, the community actively builds 2nd layers of the project. The engagement in @LazyZombieCrew spaces and the execution quality of @3DKingsNFT are just a few examples.
I believe the Lazy Lions team has done a fantastic job in this area. Only those who've been founders know the effort it takes to build and sustain a community over time.
2. IP: Not only is it top-notch, but it also carries a sense of power, thanks to the lion's symbolic strength.
3. Partnerships: Behind Yugalabs, Lazy Lions had some of the most significant NFT partnerships – an NBA team, Puma, Polygon, among others.
I've had several calls with the team, discussing their medium and long-term plans. However, it seems that focusing on the long-term vision might have led to short-term plans falling short. This frustration from community might have caused a rift with the team, and it's often hard to mend such breaks.
But I don't see LL as a failure or a dead project. Instead, I see a team that built a Ferrari, now searching for someone to drive it to victory.
It's much easier to create profitable businesses around existing communities than to build communities around businesses. And it's not imposible to pivot a vision to a more realistic and closer vision.
I have no doubt that whoever takes over will excel, as the community is filled with amazing and highly capable people ready to not just revive but elevate the project.
P.S.: Remember the comments from those who laughed, said it had no value, called it a dead project, and even mocked you. Angering a lion is a grave mistake.
#ROAR
As the Founder of @NoncoDucks , I'm deeply frustrated and want to address an alarming situation with the dignity and gravitas it warrants:
At the beginning of the year, we discovered unauthorized access to our NoncoDucks deployer wallet, and minor funds were illicitly removed. We immediately initiated formal proceedings with @opensea , reporting the incident to both local law enforcement and the FBI.
To their credit, Opensea swiftly changed the ownership of our accounts and froze the assets in that compromised wallet.
However, today, inexplicably, those assets were unfrozen, allowing the hacker to sell 40 assets to bot accounts — assets that are explicitly listed in the police report.
While our community managed to reclaim half of them at low prices, the other half ended up in the hands of bots, which continually undermine the dreams and hopes of everyone in the NFT space.
I've personally chosen to sweep all the assets that fell into the bots' hands and will donate them to the @WenGoodsNFT marketplace because my community should not suffer due to this oversight.
I strongly urge @opensea to take immediate action:
-re-freeze that account
-Open an internal process to clarify what happened.
-Issue a public apology (the damage is done), and ensure such breaches won't reoccur.
I implore everyone reading this to help spread the word. It's high time we eradicate these malicious acts that tarnish the space and hinder wider adoption.
On October 1st, 2021, we began minting @NoncoDucks during the peak of a bull run. We did it unconventionally: without hype, without bots, and without marketing; a truly organic project!
The minting process took us 3 months, but I can assure you that both the team and everyone who joined our pond had the most wonderful time of their lives.
Races, games, laughter, and unique gatherings on a Discord like no other.
We pioneered many things, such as incorporating storytelling, evolving metadata, or simply burning assets, making us the first deflationary NFT project.
Today, 2 years later, my motivation isn't about what we did or achieved.
On our 2nd anniversary, my greatest pride is seeing the same faces from 2 years ago, still having fun and enjoying a project that never sleeps.
70% of the holders have been with us since the mint, and that has to mean something.
So today, I'm not wishing a happy anniversary to the ducks holders, I'm wishing it to MY Ducks FAMILY.
And if you don't have a duck yet, know that it's affordable but invaluable. We await you.

Get ready for a paradigm shift in the way Web3 operates.
During my time as the director of disruptive growth at the world's largest brewery, I was deeply intrigued by how the company supported the growth of small craft breweries. They provided them with visibility, resources, and even offered their sales channels.
It dawned on me that sometimes the growth of an entire category is more significant than personal growth. After all, what's more desirable: capturing 100% of a million-dollar market or just 10% of a hundred-million-dollar market?
Web3 is no exception.
Today, we find ourselves competing for the attention of the remaining 30,000 individuals here. While we've grown accustomed to seeing polls, raids, comparing and ranking projects based on factors like volume, floor price, number of owners, and spreading FUD about other projects, the forthcoming wave of Web3 projects will witness us working together for a better ecosystem. In this new era, the success of others will translate into our own gains.
Anxious for what is to come and happy for those who are still here pushing for things to happen.
