I read in the @nytimes today that @SecKennedy shared the claim that a ketogenic diet can cure schizophrenia.

Here’s some of the data behind the claim.

@bgurley @PeterKolchinsky @PeterKolchinsky can confirm — the US spends more in imaging (X-rays, CAT/PET/MRI, ultrasound, etc.) than on pharmaceuticals.

No direct cost to patients makes these expenses “hidden”.

This was certainly a fact 10 years ago — I would expect this difference to have continued.
