This is Trump’s Watergate.
Today, the @nytimes released a truly stunning report on the Epstein cover-up by the White House.
Collusion, breaking the law, evading subpoenas—it’s all in there:
- Trump quashing the files
- The VP, COS, DOJ, FBI, and others colluding in the Situation Room to stop their release and compliance
- Officials lying to the public
- Admin in-fighting and exits
- Officials who appeared in front of Congress during this time

The NDP forced the Liberals to pass federal anti-scab legislation. But corporate giants are now exploiting a loophole to use outside managers as replacement workers. The law must stop employers from using scab labour. Period. Today I introduced Bill C-284 to close this loophole.
I’m brand new to official Ottawa, but I was fascinated to attend the installation of Louise Arbour as Governor General today.
It was refreshing to hear her talk about the fact that AI "could be threatening not only the way we live and work, but also the control we exercise over our own destiny.”
That is the anxiety Canadians feel, but our government has yet to get the memo.
She also spoke about climate change, and even referred twice to extreme inequality - two more issues of deep concern to a vast majority of us. Two more issues Canadians elected Mark Carney to address, only to find he is taking us in the opposite direction.
So I took the opportunity to thank Louise Arbour for beginning her tenure by commenting on these big issues.
Later, in Rideau Hall, I came across a breathtaking @christibelcourt painting, a window into an Indigenous worldview punched into the actual edifice of the colonial state. Wow.
The centre cannot hold. We need this country to work for everyone.
(And everyone should be able to enjoy the kind of luxury on display in the nation’s capital.)
Liberals are cutting healthcare to some of the most vulnerable people in our society, those forced to flee war, disaster, persecution.
Not only is that mean-spirited and unethical - it is foolish, as most will end up sicker and in emergency rooms.
BREAKING: The Trump administration is launching the largest denaturalization effort in U.S. history, seeking to strip citizenship from naturalized Americans, per CBS News
Before Trump returned to office, denaturalization was used only rarely. Now the administration is moving to dramatically expand its use as part of its broader immigration crackdown.
It was never about illegal immigration
Donald had a temper tantrum on national television and walked out of an interview simply because Kristen Welker presented him with a basic fact.
Note to other journalists: now is the time to pile on. He won't be able to handle it.
Here's the full chain of events that led to Trump storming out of his interview with Kristin Welker, beginning with her pressing him on the weaponization fund, continuing with her pointing out the baselessness of his "rigged election" lies, and concluding with him calling her "crooked or stupid" and leaving
Chantal Hébert on PM Carney's treatment of MPs: I'm not surprised that this is happening because I have a public quote from the PM who says, "I don't want to hear what people are against, we want to hear what they're for." I believe it's a defining quote.
@DimitrisSoudas Ce n'est pas une raison pour crier. C'est un problème de comportement de longue date puisque ça remonte à son règne à la Banque du Canada.
The Liberals' AI strategy proposes massive expansion of AI with no concern for the consequences it will have on workers, youth, privacy, and our water and energy supply.
The NDP is calling for a humans-first AI strategy that protects Canadian jobs, data and natural resources.
BREAKING: New reporting from @althiaraj reveals growing internal tension within the Liberal caucus, with MPs alleging that Prime Minister @MarkJCarney is tightly centralizing power and reacting harshly to internal dissent. 👇🧵 (1/5)
New statement from Scott Pelley:
“Last month, 60 Minutes lost its DNA when our entire senior leadership and two of our best on-air correspondents were cruelly fired without cause. Good people were silenced because they stood up for our audience. They stood for fairness against the forces of political bias; they stood for professionalism against chaos.
For my part, new management has instructed me to inject falsehoods and bias into a politically sensitive story. I’ve been told to include assertions that are unverified. To date, in every case, I have managed to ignore these instructions or refuse them. Recently, politicians have been invited to choose correspondents for interviews on the broadcast. Giving politicians control over 60 Minutes interviews is not how this is done. Finally, incompetence and unprofessionalism in the new management have wreaked havoc. In a case involving one of my stories, the entire program came within 19 minutes of not getting on the air at all.
At 60 Minutes, we have fought harder than anyone knows to save the program that became an American icon. We owed that to our millions of viewers. I am deeply moved by the thousands of wishes we have received to “keep up the good fight.” Most of the men and women of CBS News are still in that fight. But now the collapse of values at the top has become untenable. The leadership of 60 Minutes is no longer recognizable. The principles I hold dear are gone, and so I must leave as well.”
Liberals are selling off Canada’s ports and airports. After Heathrow was privatized, Saudi Arabia, Qatar & China gained major stakes in the airport. Canadians deserve a full national security review before foreign state-owned entities gain control of our strategic infrastructure.
Unbelievably, today the Conservatives did Donald Trump's work for him, attempting to stop the CRTC from imposing a fee on the US web giants to support Canadian content and production.
Appeasement doesn't work. We will not allow our cultural policy to be dictated by Trump!
Cuba is out of fuel, strangled by the US fuel chokehold.
People are dying, systems are breaking down.
This is collective punishment against a people who have done absolutely nothing except live their lives under hard conditions imposed by the US blockade for decades.
It’s a blatant violation of international law, a crime in progress.
Canadians are connected to Cuba: we’ve been welcomed, had great holidays, heard incredible music, done business and made friends.
We need to help Cuba right now, even if it bothers Trump: Canada should send immediate humanitarian fuel aid, in as much quantity as we can quickly assemble.
And we should be speaking out loudly on the international stage: US military action against Cuba is absolutely unacceptable!
It’s time for the countries of the world to rally and stop this impunity before it takes another sovereign country into chaos.
We have to come to Cuba's aid. What's happening is too cruel, too horrible.
Half of Canadians are living paycheck to paycheck. Meanwhile, oil companies will reap $90 BILLION in profits due to the war on Iran. Liberals & Conservatives want to hand them more corporate welfare. The NDP wants to make them pay their fair share & give real relief to Canadians.

You know what wasn’t in the Liberals’ platform?
Cutting public servants, refusing to sign Pharmacare agreements, rolling back environmental measures, reducing union rights, building bitumen pipelines, abandoning the Digital Services Tax.….Folks didn’t vote for these either.
Memo to the global community: Canada has officially abandoned climate action.
PM Carney has systematically dismantled all the insufficient policy we had in place.
A clear-eyed and devastating piece by my brother, @SethDKlein.

George H.W. Bush kept his assets in a blind trust, as did Bill Clinton. Neither Obama nor Biden traded stocks or bonds while in office. 3,700 trades is probably more than all the trades of all the presidents until now. And he is trading stocks that are affected by his decisions. A walking conflict of interest, at the least, and perhaps insider trading. Just as members of Congress should not be able to trade stocks, so too the president. https://t.co/yDqVXWfDgc
