An Irishman that got stuck in the Georgia saltmarsh with the Oysters and Spartina, Daniel is fascinated how these critters are literally engineering the shore.
This July, Dad's book "Returning Light", will be released in the U.S.

#ARCSScholar Laura Hollander is conducting research in the interdisciplinary areas of marine and estuarine science at the @EOS_Center at @SFSU. She focuses on utilizing ecological processes and interactions to enhance coastal resilience to climate change. #ScholarFeatureFriday
Today @EOS_Center@SFSU the Taylor's sea hares are having a photo shoot for @KQED's Deep Look. So excited that these charismatic little critters get to strut their rhinophores for this feature!
Saturday Baking: Taylor's Sea Hares are found along the US Pacific coast, but are all but extirpated from San Francisco Bay. Hoping covid 19 passes soon so I can start helping the Boyer lab (my new home) and @katharyn_boyer create eelgrass habitat for these beautiful inverts.
In the heat of summer it's hard to imagine that sometimes Georgia can get cold too! Grad student @RDanielHarris will even do fieldwork in January when it's 40°F (4°C). That's like doing fieldwork inside your refrigerator!

Ever wanted to know the internal temperature of an oyster, mussel or marsh snail? I’m super excited to do just that his summer with @RL_Atkins and the Osenburg Lab. Today marks day 1 of pre-deployment lab trials. #BiomimicSensorNetwork#LTER#Sapelo
@JohnnyScallops@ByersEcologyLab@RL_Atkins In the lab we are using T type thermocouples and this arduino shield from Ocean Controls - https://t.co/iceCB9qgY1. In the field we are using DS18B20 sensors and LoRa connected to The Things Network in order to read the data in real time.
Stoked to have worked with this fabulous team @zachgoldbaum @AaronJackson85 and Josh Sharp and Joel Saddler from @TheOpposition Climate Change Isn't Man-Made - The Opposition w/ Jordan Klepper https://t.co/9S2Ckf8y9a
Full moon fieldwork! We've got some great low tides this week! The perfect time to do fieldwork by the light of the moon. 🌕🌟 Thanks for the pictures @RDanielHarris and @J20Blaze
