Visiting Restart, a key partner at the heart of the MHPSS emergency response as the crisis evolves. Our long-standing collaboration continues to deliver timely, targeted support to communities affected by conflict and displacement.
On this #InternationalWomensDay, I think of the displaced women of Lebanon—carrying children, fear, and invisible trauma as war forces them from their homes. Their resilience is immense, but resilience should never replace protection, dignity, and peace. #Lebanon#IDPs
He also attended a psychosocial support session facilitated by Restart with Lebanese and Syrian women whose husbands, sons, or brothers were affected by irregular migration. The risks remain. Community-led prevention and care need continued support. @ukinlebanon
On the eve of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the Holy Pope’s visit to the psychiatric hospital is a reminder that fostering disability-inclusive societies is the path to true social progress and human dignity for all.

This #IDPD2025, Restart Center highlights the urgent need for rights-based care and independent monitoring in all closed institutions.
Persons with disabilities must never be forgotten behind walls. Protection is a duty, not a choice.
#InternationalDayOfPersonswithDisabilities
Pope Leo XIV’s visit reminds us that in our hardest moments, hope overcomes despair and unity overcomes division. May this blessing renew our faith and guide us toward compassion, peace, and the protection of human dignity.

On #WorldMentalHealthDay, as the world highlights “Mental Health in Humanitarian Emergencies,” we in Lebanon still lack a national mental health law.
Without legal protection, rights remain fragile & dignity uncertain.
MH is not a privilege. It is a right. #WMHD2025#HumanRights
At Restart Center, we are proud to stand at the forefront of Lebanon’s mental health, emergency response, and work in places of detention — ensuring that every person, even in crisis, is met with care, dignity, and hope. 💚 #WMHD2025#MHPSS#HumanRights
Irregular migration doesn't end with the journey, it leaves deep scars.
Batool, a Syrian mother in Lebanon, is healing from the trauma of letting her sons cross the sea.
With IOM and @RESTARTCENTER, she’s learning that healing begins with being heard.

What we need now is urgent investment:
— in a regional roadmap ✅
— in trained personnel
— in community-based care
— in integrated mental health within primary healthcare and emergency systems….

“Over 87% of communities in Syria lack access to any form of mental health or psychosocial support. This is not just a humanitarian gap, it’s a public duty we’re failing.” remarked Dr. Nabil Samarji from WHO Syria

"In Syria, I once asked a patient for informed consent," said Dr. Mohammad El Sherif, from LDHR Syria. "He looked at me and said, ‘Dr., I’m afraid, why are you respecting me so much? Do you need something from me?’” That’s what decades of dehumanisation do.
