Oof this @TheStreet tax guide is getting worse and worse…first the only options you have are Tax Preparers and CPAs…guess the Street doesn’t know EAs are a thing #taxtwitter? And then the average 1040 fee and state is $176? Seriously? Geez I hope people don’t actually buy this thing looking for good information.
Picked up a copy of @TheStreet ‘s “2026 Tax Guide” while at the supermarket today…6 pages in and they got the tax brackets wrong. MFJ and MFS are swapped 🤦🏻
Truth hurts sometimes…saying CPAs have better brand recognition is not saying EAs, Atty, etc. aren’t good at what they do or that any one of them is better than the other, just that society easily recognizes what a CPA is (or at least what they think a CPA is) but if you ask a random person what an EA is chances are they say executive assistant over enrolled agent.
@LoZabransky@ajthecpa1226@shawngorham Don’t even get me started on those silly financial advisors that just yank 1% of your portfolio every month whether they did any work for you or not…but the average Joe doesn’t look at the “fees” section of their 1099
@FSteinCPA @cordes_tax I don’t know about the political affiliations but I’ll say taxes are the one thing where people could be known to be the most straight edge kind of person but then it all goes out the window cause well screw the government I guess 🤷♂️
@FSteinCPA @FortWayneCPA Is there a typo here or something? How is making the targeting of those exercising free speech illegal going to lead to a dictatorship? If anything that sounds like the opposite of a dictatorship as dictators are not very keen on free speech…
My wife and I got married during COVID…in hindsight the lockdowns were great for us financially. We went from a wedding that would have cost about $50k down to a backyard wedding at my in laws house with a food truck and just the immediate family and wedding party. Everybody had a fantastic time and we saved a ton of money.
@cbriancpa Highly doubt the IRS actually does this unless they’re already looking into the person. There’s so much terrible tax advice posted on social media that if they actually did this there would be a lot more audits going around
@RichardCrainCPA@adammarkowitzEA Except they’re an SSTB so under the actual OB3 bill they are excluded from the tip deduction…this should be a fun tax season
