@MatthewPfab I was thinking the exact same thing. I saw that same post and another one that said 105°-115°f!!! In October???? This was not anywhere near accurate. Warmer than normal sure, but this was wayyyy out there!!!
"We the People" of Washington State DEMAND ONCE AGAIN a Complete CRIMINAL investigations of Gov Bob Ferguson, AG Nick Brown and Fmr Gov Jay Inslee. We have the MOST CORRUPT ELECTIONS IN AMERICA with Massive ILLEGALS Voting! Help!
Idaho gas prices update!! 😅 It ain't January anymore. Why are prices rising? Let me tell you.
Recorded on September 16th '26.
What does fuel cost where you live? ⛽️
I legitimately believed Trump was going to focus on the domestic problems we have.
I live in a State where the Democrats rule. It’s not a “blue” state. It has cities where lefties consolidate & retain power by universal mail in ballots.
No republican has won anything of significance since they started universal mail in ballots in 2011
The small victories we do win…
We vote for $30 tabs, they say no
We vote for using natural gas, they say no
We vote for election security, they write laws to shield chain of custody, ballots, copies of ballots for 25 years
We aren’t even allowed to know how our elections are secure.
Who do the politicians work for?
Not the people. They ignore our votes and drive their own agenda.
Washington voters keep sending the same message. Olympia and the courts keep sending it back stamped “void.”
Today the Washington Supreme Court, 6-3, struck down Initiative 2066 — the 2024 energy-choice measure that told the state it could not ban natural gas in homes and businesses. Voters passed it with 51.7 percent. It won in 34 of 39 counties. More than half a million people signed the petitions that put it on the ballot. The majority said the initiative had four subjects, so the whole thing dies. That is the same single-subject club they used on car tabs.
If this feels familiar, it should. Washington has been running this play for a generation.
Three times voters demanded $30 car tabs. Three times they were told they didn’t mean it.
• 1999 — Initiative 695. Cap most car tabs at $30. Passed with 56 percent. The Supreme Court struck it down. The Legislature then enacted a $30 cap because even Gary Locke could read a map. The cap did not last. New fees grew back around it.
• 2002 — Initiative 776. Same fight, aimed at Sound Transit’s vehicle tax. Passed with 51 percent. Parts survived. New fees appeared anyway.
• 2019 — Initiative 976. Cap most registration taxes and fees at $30, use Kelley Blue Book instead of an inflated 1990s depreciation schedule, and stop stacking more local vehicle taxes without a vote. Passed with 52.99 percent — 1,055,749 yes, 936,751 no. King County voted no. Almost everywhere else voted yes. Seattle and King County sued before the ink was dry. In October 2020 the Supreme Court unanimously killed it: too many subjects, misleading title.
The $30 license tab fee is still on the books. RCW 46.17.350 still says $30. That is the number they print so they can claim you got what you voted for.
You did not.
What you actually pay in 2026
The state floor is no longer $30. As of January 1, 2026:
• $30 license tab
• Weight fee starting at $35 for a light sedan (higher for trucks)
• $6 filing fee
• $11 office/service fee
• Technology fees
Statewide floor: about $83 before any local add-ons.
Then the stack:
• City Transportation Benefit District fees: $20–$50 (Seattle $50)
• Sound Transit RTA tax inside the district: 1.1 percent of a state-assigned value based on original MSRP and a 1996-era depreciation table that prices many cars above what they would sell for
• EV surcharge: about $225 statewide
• Hybrid fee: $75
A mid-range SUV registered in the Sound Transit district can easily land in the $300–$500+ range. The $30 line is the decoy. The bill is the policy.
After I-976 passed, Governor Inslee ordered WSDOT to postpone road projects in the counties that voted for the tax cut — even though those projects are funded by the gas tax, not car tabs. The message was not subtle: vote the wrong way and we slow-walk your pavement.
That is not “protecting the constitution.” That is punishing the electorate.
Same court, same rule, different year
I-2066 was sold as energy choice: keep natural gas available, stop building codes and air rules from forcing a one-fuel future. The court said it bundled utility policy, building codes, air authority, and the Decarbonization Act, so none of it can stand. Three justices dissented. Justice Sal Mungia wrote that much of the measure could have been saved. The majority chose the nuclear option.
Single-subject is a real constitutional rule. It also happens to be the most convenient rule in the building when a statewide majority votes against the agenda that King County, Seattle, transit agencies, and the climate lobby already wrote into statute.
Notice who sues. After I-976 it was Seattle, King County, and transit agencies. After I-2066 it was Climate Solutions, Washington Conservation Action, Seattle, and King County. The pattern is not mysterious. The jurisdictions that lose statewide votes file in the court that sits in their backyard and ask nine justices to convert a policy loss into a constitutional win.
Who they work for
If politicians worked for the people who vote, $30 tabs would have been the law of the land for 25 years and natural gas would still be a legal choice in a new house. Instead:
• Voters cap a tax. Courts find a drafting defect. The tax stays.
• Voters protect an energy source. Courts find four subjects. The mandate stays.
• Drivers stop renewing tabs in protest. Olympia drafts bills to ticket parked cars and tighten enforcement. The fee schedule is not the problem. Your compliance is.
Sound Transit’s ST3 ballot title in 2016 did not put “your used Honda will be valued like a new one” in 72-point type. That is how the car-tab tax came back. When voters tried to unwind it, they were told they were “confused.” When they try to keep a stove that works when the grid is strained, they are told they voted for four things at once.
Government that cannot lose at the ballot box will not change at the ballot box.
What is still on the table
The Supreme Court is not a priesthood. Several seats are on the November ballot. Judicial races in this state are designed to be invisible. That is the point. Make them visible.
A clean, single-subject $30-tab initiative can still be written. A clean energy-choice initiative can still be written. The court told you the drafting standard. Meet it. Do not hand them the excuse.
And stop pretending the $30 line on the DOL website is the deal you struck. It is the leftover label on a product they restocked at five times the price.
Voters did their job. The people who draw the maps, write the ballot titles, file the lawsuits, and sit on the court did theirs.
That is the answer to the title. They do not work for you. They work for the agenda that survives every vote against it.
BREAKING: The Washington State Supreme Court has just overturned another law passed by voters, ruling that the initiative protecting your right to use natural gas in your home and business is UNCONSTITUTIONAL. Unreal.
You're looking live at El Niño going "full-tilt" to start meteorological fall. Once in a lifetime event.
Three monster hurricanes in E. Pacific w/Hawaii splitting the uprights.
Moisture from Hurricane Marie is going to inundate U.S. desert Southwest with major monsoon!
It is really nice to see a crowd in Seattle chanting "USA" rather than burning American flags and marching on behalf of terror organizations
Can we import more normal people?
🌧️⚠️Models over the past few days have trended towards the potential for another major flooding event over the next week or two as 1-2 strong atmospheric rivers (AR) flow into the region. The first AR will arrive on Tuesday/Wednesday which looks to be a colder system, at first, bringing a snowstorm to the mountains. But then warmer air is forecast to flow over the region later on Wednesday, resulting in snow levels rising well beyond 5,000ft...
On Thursday, the snow levels for the northern and central WA Cascades look to drop back below 5,000ft as the AR shifts south a bit. However, the southern WA and northern OR Cascades look to be on the warm side with rain for most of the higher elevations. This first AR looks to end by Saturday...
Then, another AR will arrive on Sunday, which for me personally, looks to be the most impactful. This one looks to come in at the PNW at a more SW to NE angle as a ridge of high pressure builds over the Southwest US. This will cause this one to be warmer than the first and having a more classic, impactful AR orientation. This system is around 7-9 days out so there is still quite a bit of model disagreement we need to work out over the coming week...
Summary:
A couple strong ARs are forecast over the next 1-2 weeks as cold air over the Gulf of Alaska collides with warm, subtropical air from Hawaii. So, you can call these Pineapple Expresses if you want! 🍍 The first one arrives mid-week with heavy snow in the mountains to start out before a period of warmer air from the 2nd half of Wed. through early Thur. leads to mostly rain. This AR will shift around from northern Oregon through Washington until Saturday. The 2nd, likely most impactful AR, will arrive on Sunday through the week after next...
Below are a few models showing total precipitation expected over the next 9-11 days. The NBM, which is an average of many different models, shows up to 1 to 1.5 feet in the mountains (less up in BC) with 3-6" in the lowlands from western Oregon all the way up through SW BC. The 3rd image is of the GEM (Canadian model), which was one of the best models at predicting the maximum rainfall totals in December that led to historic floods. It has been showing upwards of 2-3 FEET of precipitation over the next 10-days in the mountains, which is basically the worst-case scenario...
The NW River Forecast Center is already showing at least one river getting close to record levels.
NWRFC: "The Skokomish River will cause major, near record flooding throughout the Skokomish Valley. Deep and swift flood waters will inundate residential areas, many roads including SR 106, and much of the farmland. Flooding will occur all along the river including headwaters, tributaries, and other streams within and near the Skokomish River Basin." See the 4th image below for the estimated timeline for the Skokomish River flooding. If model trends hold, I expect more forecasts to sound like this for other rivers across the region.

TPUSA Spokesperson Andrew Kolvet: “We’re going to do another halftime show for the country next year.”
Amazing!

Solar storm ahead of schedule and has already arrived on earth. Forecast from earlier this morning had the Kp index peaking at 8 between 10 pm and 1 am so the peak might be a little earlier. There is a chance we could start seeing the aurora early this evening. #wawx
