R.I.P.cot Center 🌐

Mourning the loss of the original EPCOT Center dream...looking back on the Horizons that inspired me to be Tomorrow’s Child. Give me boat rides & authenticity.

Disney should build a 5th gate dedicated to science, innovation, & the future. They could set it up like the ultimate world’s fair with pavilions dedicated to the earth, space, land, & sea. We could celebrate the world of travel & communication. Can you imagine? It would be epic!

Bout to start a GoFundMe for an EPCOT trip. I need to thank the Phoenicians so badly. 😫

[Nick Chappell @DisTwitrPodcast]

Never forget. 🫡 🤡

[R.I.P.cot Center 🌐 @RIPcotCenter]

@TheMickeyWiki We were Live with the Land back then.

[R.I.P.cot Center 🌐 @RIPcotCenter]

Now that we have Dreamfinder back…

1) get rid of the speedway already.
2) please put something of wonder back in WoL.

[R.I.P.cot Center 🌐 @RIPcotCenter]

@SixMilesTall You just blew my imagination 😱

[R.I.P.cot Center 🌐 @RIPcotCenter]

If it doesn’t have the Dream Mobile, I’m out.

[R.I.P.cot Center 🌐 @RIPcotCenter]

@NealHunterHyde No doubt.

[R.I.P.cot Center 🌐 @RIPcotCenter]

Gonna be hilarious when we learn this is just an updated meet and greet. 🙄

[R.I.P.cot Center 🌐 @RIPcotCenter]

But what about the sweater?!

[Jeffrey Cook @NagusCook]

@CoasterK24 It needs an update. The history of communication but it ends at the desktop PC with no mention of the smartphones we all have.

It also needs to be barely touched.

Yes, I want both change AND the status quo. I'm the perfect Disney fan, aren't I?

[Frank @FrankMakesStuff]

In regards to the future of EPCOT, my hopefulness has redoubled, and here's why. I believe they were anticipating a legion of iPad kids with goldfish attention spans. But what ended up happening was, kids today are genuinely smart an curious. They would THRIVE in 80s EPCOT.

[Disney Glimpses @disneyglimpses]

new merch drop

[Frank @FrankMakesStuff]

Figment needs his dad back.
Spaceship Earth needs her Rocket Lady back.
The Seas need their hydrolators back.
The Universe needs its Energy back.
Life needs its Wonders back.
Did I miss anything?

[Mattlegostar @Mattlegostar2]

I mean...

You can believe what you wanna believe, but you at least gotta admit,

it DOES match a LITTLE BIT, the beard, the glove, the dark outfit...

[R.I.P.cot Center 🌐 @RIPcotCenter]

For my Disney stans that also love sports…

D23 is like draft day. Fans are always so hopeful but then we hate every “pick.” Most selections don’t ever look like we thought they would. And every couple of years there’s just a great one that really works out and we believe again.

[Corey @CoreyWDW]

How great is this place?

[R.I.P.cot Center 🌐 @RIPcotCenter]

This would have been incredible. 😭😭

I’m convinced we’d be better off with actual Muppets running Disney.

[Uncle Walt’s Little Known Facts @UncleWalt1971]

When Disney planned the area around Muppet*Vision 3D at DHS in the 1980s, they envisioned a full Muppet-themed land named “Muppet Studios” that would include the 3D show and a dark ride attraction called The Great Muppet Movie Ride. But after the death of Jim Henson in 1990 (Muppet*Vision 3D was the last major project that Henson worked on), the acquisition of the Muppets stalled and the land was scaled back to just the 3D attraction.

[R.I.P.cot Center 🌐 @RIPcotCenter]

@corpkingdom Oh, it most definitely can get worse than that. 🫣

This app, when they gut Spaceship Earth, for an IP based on this series? OOHHHH BOOYYYY.

[Variety @Variety]

Disney+ has ordered a pilot for a "Spaceship Earth" TV series inspired by the EPCOT ride of the same name.

The logline for the pilot states: "When a mission to avert an imminent global cataclysm goes awry, a small band of teenagers from Earth's past and future must join forces to confront a threat as vast and mysterious as time itself."
