Exciting news! I am launching the Lab of Polymicrobial Interaction & Evolution @IPMBSinica@AcadSinica! 🎉 Our brand-new website is live: https://t.co/3Sqco4eWHZ 🥧
We’re recruiting at all levels—if you're curious about how fungi and bacteria compete and co-evolve, come join us!
The article from my previous postdoc is now published in @PPLplantarum. In this work we show how a root endophytic yeast Naganishia liquefaciens alleviates cold tolerance in Arabidopsis. Nice Combo of plant physiology, genome seq, and imaging.

After long term investment and a lots of hard work, the acceptance of the paper in “Physiologia Plantarum” finally paid off. Congratulations to all authors 💐. Cant wait to see the published version.
Such low level scrutiny in recruitment process brings down morale of many deserving candidates as they can’t get through the very 1st step of screening. My Q is why these fancy program e.g ‘Applied Microbiology’ even exist if they are not recognized @ugc_india@mamidala90
A pity on the higher edu system, when a central university decline your recruitment application b/z your MSc is in Applied Microbiology and not in Microbiology. Are both subjects so different? Mean way to reject candidates by university @ugc_india@mamidala90
@ugc_india Can we do something regarding international access to the Indian university website? As an expat living abroad, it is not possible to get info about the research area/recruitment process as many state/central university websites don't open. A big disappointment.
Hey plant/microbe science world!🌱 We are looking for an enthusiastic PhD candidate in the Green Life Sciences in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Are you interested in plant microbiomes and how they help alleviate stress? Apply here👇

That's the q-score I got from my last Naopore run for bacterial genomes on MinIon flow cell and mk1b device (with sup basecalling). This is getting better, I guess. @oxfordnanopore
@DrLMRobinson @jelenaoreilly I recently got a postdoc offer in UK with ridiculously low salary of 35k pound in a bbsrc project. While the cost of living is way too high to live there. I finally declined. Too bad for UK people, they must reconsider the salalry structure.
I will move to National University of Singapore next April. There are several PhD and postdoc positions open (closest PhD deadline is 15 Nov 2024). You are welcome to apply. It will be great if you can RT. Look forward to the next chapter.
We’re solving some of the world’s greatest challenges by bringing the applied microbiology community together, across borders and disciplines, to enable meaningful collaboration that delivers scientific impact.
❗REPOST to help us get to 30k followers to support this mission❗
Last talk of today by @jhjie1 about specialised root exudates and their role in microbiome assembly in Tomato. Poster session still to follow. #PMS2024
