We did a course called Power & Politics, which had a learning game in class once that perfectly showcased the below. It hits hard on your senses when you see it play within the confines of the room in 1 hour.
Most of us fail to see it happening, or worse, are helpless. SYSTEM!
Death duties are the tool used by the rich (who have perfected tax protection) to keep out middle class aspirants who may climb in through multigenerational wealth accumulation. This is similar to how the license permit era froze our business elite. Those who have climbed up are often tempted to kick away the ladder that they themselves climbed. Exact same reason that rich country economists advise poor countries to try all kinds of untested social experiments but not the strategies that made them rich in the first place.
Daud released when I was barely 10-11yo.
The movie made a terrible BO... the songs and the whole trailer was catchy though from what i remember.
but damn, the songs keep growing on you.
Rahman & RGV had one hell of chemistry at the start!
every time i watch "Thappad", the film feels even more a reflection of the society and un-layers the deep rooted society we live in.
if blindspot had to be dramatized, the movie hits it on point... esp the first time.
I am glad you are working on this.
Wish you focused as much on underground connectivity for metro and build lines across the city and its expansions like Navi Mumbai.
Why do we hear of land acquisition then.
Just go underground and make it a dense network.
Mumbai needs it!
Beneath Mumbai, momentum is building.
MMRDA has completed 250 metres of underground tunnelling for the Orange Gate–Marine Drive Urban Road Tunnel, powered by India's largest slurry shield TBM for an urban road. And it keeps pushing forward.
One of India's most complex urban tunnelling projects, the Orange Gate–Marine Drive Tunnel involves construction of twin tunnels spanning over 7 km, passing beneath Central Railway, Western Railway, and Metro Line 3 with precision engineering every metre of the way.
Once completed, the tunnel will cut travel time between Orange Gate and Marine Drive to just 5 minutes, enabling seamless east-west connectivity, direct integration with the Coastal Road and Atal Setu, and a significant reduction in congestion and emissions across Mumbai.
Mumbai's next-generation mobility infrastructure isn't on the horizon. It's being built right now, beneath your feet.

Reason 73 why we are not a sporting nation , and the institutionalization needs go deeper.
It’s only the self belief, mindset and courage of sportsmen that make them do this nonetheless.
Another ex: how many even know of Thomas Cup and our performance there!
Go beyond Cricket!
@bhaumikgowande the density of public transport in NYC allows it to have such kind of high-density buildings too.
We sure should build vertical in Mumbai, but we need that much more public transport. Its currently extremely under-developed.
prime eg: Lower Parel is a shit show!
@JRUrbaneNetwork I had taken the D category train from SH to BJ back in 2011. Was a smooth night journey, so comfortable and extremely convenient.
There were like 5 trains back to back from 9 pm to 9.30 pm to take care of the crowd.
Wish one day the same for Mumbai - Delhi! so crucial.
Yes, coastal road is seeing a surge. As it should. The article also says that main benefit has been to car owners or those who can afford taxis. Small %
We need sensible bus routes too on coastal road
And for comparison, what Metro can carry.
Need more metro & last mile connect
@rajtoday Too good! great that you captured the memories sirji!
the acceleration of those as kids was such a fun experience.
Still remember the early AC ones would be slow to take off and we would make fun of it. ha ha!
you are doing a great service to the railways history of BOM & India
We need more road connectivity. Not expansion of the same.
Build alternative routes.
Instead of expanding the current e-way, focus on alternative route. Take a branch off JNPT Spur that goes and meets Pune near Chakan side.
Ofocurse, Pune needs a proper Ring Road too
On Good Friday this week, took a Badlapur Fast from CST at 11.50 am

Farzi Season 2 is coming soon!
Finally!
fingers crossed it does a better job than TFM in the sequels ....
PS: TFM was okay in the next seasons but just didn't hold it as well. Delhi Crime and Paatal Lok for ex did a great S2
Some virtue signalling of some folks stating they don't want to watch Dhurandhar.
Grow up! We all live in a world of influence. There is nothing called "Neutral".
Never existed. Never Will.
Criticise the craft. But keep an open mind for the craft.
