This week we are taking time to recognize the contributions made by volunteers across the country during National Volunteer Week (April 19th – 25th). We are especially grateful for our citizens that have chosen to volunteer their time at our Department. #NationalVolunteerWeek
Dr. Sheryl Cowan and a group of volunteers donated face shields for our officers. They used 3D printers to make the pieces of the face shields and assemble them. We are again amazed at the support and in this case, ingenuity, to help serve the community.Thank you! #InThisTogether
@RichardsonTX_PD is AWESOME! My daughter sent them a letter and they wrote her back + a @krispykreme gift certificate. FYI: they say police DO like donuts just as in Lethal Weapon. #covid_19adventures
Thanks to Lockwood Distilling Co. for donating several cases of their hand sanitizer to us today. Really something to see businesses changing normal operations and what they do to make resources available. If you're in the area, make sure to stop by, they’re open for carry-out!
Grateful for donation of N95 and disposable masks and hand sanitizer from DFW Chinese Alliance, DFW Chinese American Story eGarden and Chinese Community Neighbors. It will help protect our officers and citizens as we continue to serve our community during the COVID-19 crisis.
Today, justice has been served for our fallen brother, Officer David Sherrard. There are no words to accurately describe the emotions being felt now that the trial has concluded. So many have helped David’s family and our Department get to this point, we are grateful.
Today we remember Ofc. David Sherrard, badge #1078. On Feb 7, 2018, Ofc. Sherrard was shot and killed in the line of duty, responding to a disturbance call. Ofc. Sherrard and his family will always be in our thoughts and he will never be forgotten for his courage and sacrifice.
Today we had the pleasure of hosting a meeting for the North Texas Police Chiefs Association. Chief Spivey welcomed attendees and Captain Tittle delivered the invocation prayer. Tours were given of our new building after a presentation. Thank you to those who attended.

We feel justice has been served with today’s verdict of life in prison given to Wesley Mathews by a jury of his peers. We would like to thank the law enforcement agencies and civilian partners for the resources and time spent on this case. We will always remember Sherin Mathews.
