On the sidelines of the International Space Summit in Paris, President Kagame met with President Denis Sassou Nguesso of the Republic of Congo.
The two Heads of State reaffirmed the strong and longstanding bilateral relations between Rwanda and the Republic of Congo, and exchanged views on shared priorities and the need to advance effective, sustainable and African-led solutions to the challenges facing our continent.
“The space economy is evolving rapidly, driven by lower costs, new technologies, and greater private-sector engagement.
Africa intends to be a full participant in this growth, not only as a user of space capabilities, but also as a contributor to science, research, and global decision-making.
For a continent with a young and increasingly connected population, this sector offers enormous potential.
With the right support, our talent pool can develop the relevant expertise, and build businesses, and create real value for Africa.” President Kagame | International Space Summit.

"Among the many things you are taking away with you, leave this place with one thing firmly in your minds: You are now builders of something. You are problem solvers. You are innovators. And you are also going to contribute
to this nation, the national effort.
Rwanda will not be developed by people coming from somewhere else, zero. If you thought there is anything like that, quickly change your mind. It is not like that. It doesn't happen like that. You must be the one to do it." President Kagame | Indangamirwa 16 #MeetThePresident
“As young people, we need you. We love you. But first and foremost, take care of yourselves.
This religion of alcohol, I think people even recruit others into it. Alcohol is killing you. It’s killing young people. The older ones are already gone. It has killed so many older people like us. Others are already on that same path and seem unable to stop.
But I want to warn you and beg you: everything we have been talking about, what brought you here, and the plans we have for our country, this thing will kill you before you realise your ambitions.” President Kagame |#MeetThePresident Indangamirwa 16th Cohort
