Very nice and productive visit of my great 🇱🇹Lithuanian colleagues Rolandas Taraškevičius, Antanas Venckus & @MedaNacickaite at #VillaEuropa🇪🇺. We prepared the Lithuanian Presidency of the EU Council in the first semester of 2027. Strong agreement between our teams on the importance of stepping up our support for Ukraine in this 5th war of Russia‘s brutal war of aggression. And on jointly promoting and defending our common EU values and interests when it comes to the leadership renewal at the Rome-based UN Organisations @FAO@WFP and @IFAD.
A constructive meeting with Mr @BoleaVladimir Minister for Agriculture and Food Industry, Moldova 🇲🇩
The EU is standing by your side, in the development of a modern and sustainable farming sector and on your journey towards EU membership.

◾️future CAP

@JMCASTILLABARO@NatashaFoote Credits for this dairy crisis para in the 2015 #SOTEU should go to Phil Hogan as well as the €500 mio support package acoompanying the statement. A wider follow-up to immeade exceptional support to Baltic and Finnish farmers after RUS food imports ban back then in August 2014.
@JMCASTILLABARO@NatashaFoote@vonderleyen@JunckerEU Juncker got smth on dairy market situation in his first #SOTEU with his famous 'there is something wrong in a market when the price of a litre of milk is less than the price of a litre of water', but after it's been almost forgotten..
Heartening to see that the EU agriculture ministers meeting tomorrow will also discuss "food supply and security for the Ukrainian people" rather than just secondary-tier concerns about market share/exports.

Piglet price increase trend gives some hope, but the export performance needs to improve and especially the dark side of the moon - skyrocketing inputs and negative profit margins thereto.
The pigmeat🐖market in the EU tends to stabilize. Piglet prices are improving, showing producers’ confidence in the future. However, the EC remains vigilant and closely monitor the challenging market situation.
