A subset of middle’s becoming uppers does not account for all that wealth movement. Nor does a bigger pie. Apologies if I am misrepresenting your conclusion.

But this is about tax policy, and like some of the huge societal issues (healthcare perhaps), there are places where caring for citizens collectively makes sense. A growing wealth gap is one for me.
