🚨 MASSIVE: DRDO Cracks One of the World's Toughest Jet Engine Technologies, Develops Single Crystal Blade Tech
DRDO has successfully developed and perfected Single Crystal Turbine Blade technology, an achievement that places India among a small group of nations capable of producing one of the most sophisticated components used in modern jet engines.
At first glance, a turbine blade may appear to be just another metal component. In reality, it operates in one of the harshest environments known to engineering. Inside a fighter jet engine, these blades must withstand temperatures exceeding 1,500°C while spinning at tens of thousands of revolutions per minute. Even the smallest structural weakness can lead to catastrophic failure.
That is where single crystal technology becomes crucial.
Unlike conventional metal components, which are made up of multiple grains separated by microscopic boundaries, a single crystal blade is manufactured as one continuous crystal structure. The absence of grain boundaries eliminates weak points, allowing the blade to endure extreme heat, pressure, and mechanical stress that would destroy ordinary materials.
Developing such blades is considered one of the most difficult tasks in aerospace engineering. The manufacturing process requires extraordinary precision, from casting the crystal structure to machining cooling channels and achieving the final surface finish. A minor defect at any stage can render the entire component unusable.
Recognizing the maturity of the technology, DRDO has now invited private-sector companies to participate in its industrialization and large-scale production. The goal is not merely to manufacture the blades but also to obtain airworthiness certification, ensuring they meet the demanding standards required for operational aircraft engines.
The breakthrough carries major strategic implications. It strengthens India's ambitions to develop indigenous aero-engines, including future variants of the Kaveri engine, next-generation fighter jet engines, helicopter engines, and advanced gas turbines. Most importantly, it reduces India's dependence on foreign suppliers for one of the most sensitive technologies in the aerospace sector.
For years, aero-engines remained one of the few areas where India lagged behind the world's leading military powers. With the successful development of single crystal turbine blade technology, that gap has become significantly smaller.
What was once an exclusive capability of a handful of nations is now firmly within India's grasp.
Deeply shocking to read this official US statement, which contains absolutely no expression of regret or condolence for the loss of innocent Indian lives. How can a “friend” and strategic partner be so deeply insensitive?
Why couldn’t a non-compliant commercial vessel have been stopped using other, non-lethal means? Is it not possible to disable a ship's propulsion or steering without firing missiles targeted to kill civilian crew members?
Practically every merchant ship navigating these crucial waters has Indian crew on board. Are they all considered fair game for US missiles now?
This approach is unacceptable and I hope @DrSJaishankar had said so to @marcorubio.
Modern sleep studies show that if a daytime nap exceeds 20-30 mins, we enter deep, slow-wave sleep. Waking up from this causes sleep inertia, leaving us groggy, destroying our night sleep & messing up our insulin sensitivity.
Ancient India prevented this through a mandatory post-lunch ritual called Vama-Kukshi.
Vama means left & Kukshi means womb/side. The protocol mandates that after a midday meal, we must lie down specifically on our left side for a short duration (traditionally calculated as the time it takes to take 8 to 16 deep breaths, ~15-20 mins).
Lying on our left side keeps the stomach below the esophagus, preventing acid reflux. More importantly, it activates the Pingala Nadi (the right nostril breathing channel, connected to the sympathetic nervous system), which stimulates digestion, while keeping the brain in a state of light, restorative rest rather than letting it plunge into a deep, heavy slumber.
The Sushruta Samhita explicitly warns that long, heavy sleeping during the day destroys metabolic health (causes Kapha & Meda/fat accumulation). But a short Vama-Kukshi, a quick, left-sided power nap was prescribed to restore mental clarity, relieve stress & preserve vitality (Ojas).
It is the exact ancient counterpart to the modern 15 min "power nap."
🚨 HISTORIC!
For the first time ever, EVERY Chief Minister attended the NITI Aayog meeting.
Contrast that with the past:
— 2024: Stalin, Mamata, & Siddaramaiah BOYCOTTED
— 2025: Kejriwal, & Vijayan BOYCOTTED
All have LOST POWER. Lesson learnt?🤯
Friends,
Do you want to know what change the presence of @narendramodi in New Delhi has made in media circle in last 4400 days?
My young journalist friend who covers @INCIndia.
She admires @priyankagandhi.
When one meets her it’s visible she believes in ethos of Congress while reporting it.
She comes from humble background, has faced terrible hardships to settle down in Delhi.
It took 20 plus years to carve a career as a reporter as she knows only Hindi.
She had once shared how difficult it was to cover Congress during the UPA regime without knowing English as most senior ministers spoke only English.
Last week, we were discussing ‘the Modi Raj’ and PM overtaking Nehru’s tenure.
During our conversation on the strengths and weaknesses of the Modi government she said something profound.
‘ Ab Delhi main Hindi bolne se jijhak nahi hoti! Bahut bada farq hai.’
(Now, there is no hesitation in speaking Hindi in Delhi. It’s a big change.)
In 2012 it was considered meek to ask a question in Hindi in @MEABharat press conferences.
Now, @DrSJaishankar to @MEAIndia responds in fluent Hindi if asked question in Hindi.
Since last many years, the reporters and editors of English media have been enjoying correcting desi pronunciations of Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Bengali or Kannada speaking journalists in full public view.
But, their fun has gone, now.
I think, by plan @narendramodi and @AmitShah speak in Hindi.
Recently, at @BJP4India event, when journalists asked questions in English Shah responded in Hindi.
For millions of non-English speaking Indians this is a fantastic thing to happen.
First time since days of Nehru someone who has total grip on levers of power and has been governing India for more than a decade is not an English speaking Indian.
Those of us who have only working knowledge of English loving this change.
📢 Kerala 🛣️
In Kerala, we have approved ₹1,663.15 crore for the 4-laning of a 54.37 km stretch of NH-183, from Kollam Bypass Junction to Anjilimoodu.
Kollam, known as India’s cashew capital and home to over 600 processing units, will significantly benefit from this infrastructure upgrade. The improved corridor will serve key industrial clusters including cashew, coir, ceramics, rare earth, and fisheries, collectively employing over 1.5 lakh workers. Enhanced connectivity to Kollam Port will reduce logistics costs, cut transit time, and facilitate seamless freight movement, thereby strengthening the regional economy.
The 4-lane corridor will also improve road safety and decongest existing stretches. As part of NH-183, the project will enhance interstate and regional connectivity, while improving access to key tourist destinations such as Periyar Tiger Reserve and Thekkady, giving a further boost to tourism and overall economic growth in the region.

The drop in nitrogen fertilizer prices has now extended into Asia. India has received offers for its latest urea tender at an average price of $530 per tonne, down ~44% from $947 per tonne in April.
