This poem reflects the tragedy of conflicts where both the killer and the slain share the same faith. It questions why the birds do not come and the stones do not fall — symbols of divine intervention — when both sides pray to the same God. The verses expose the moral confusion when the oppressor and the oppressed bow before the same Kaaba, both calling upon Allah. It mourns the silence of nature and heaven in the face of brother killing brother. Ultimately, it’s a cry against the loss of conscience in a war without righteousness.
