[Jemima Goldsmith @Jemima_Khan]

Prime Minister @andyburnham and Foreign Secretary @Ed_Miliband : how much longer will Britain remain silent?

For three years the father of my two sons, and Pakistan’s former Prime Minister, Imran Khan, has been brutally penalised by his political opponents, in a personal vendetta by Army Chief, Asim Munir,  which according to the UN,  amounts to torture and which  is now taking a potentially fatal toll on his physical and mental health.

He has endured 3 years of solitary confinement. For nearly ten months now his family has been denied contact with him. He has been deprived of the most basic human contact, denied access to books, lawyers and doctors.

The international human-rights standards are unequivocal. Under the UN’s Nelson Mandela Rules, solitary confinement lasting more than 15 consecutive days is prohibited and amounts to torture.

He has endured this treatment not for 15 days, but for three years.

Pakistan’s own Supreme Court has now intervened: ordering comprehensive  medical treatment, access to his personal doctor, regular family visits and twice-weekly calls with his sons.

Yet those orders are being defied.

This is no longer simply a Pakistani political matter. It is a human-rights emergency.

He has deep and lifelong ties to Britain. He studied at Oxford University, captained Oxford University cricket and spent years playing county cricket in England. His relationship with this country stretches back more than half a century. His charitable activities were internationally recognised, and  include building the only free cancer hospital in Pakistan as well as a university.

His sons, my two boys, Sulaiman and Kasim, are British citizens. They have been forced to watch their father’s health decline from thousands of miles away, prevented from visiting him, denied visas, publicly threatened by government officials with arrest themselves, and even denied court-mandated regular phone calls.

I have repeatedly appealed to the UK government to intervene. Purported attempts at back channelling have evidently failed. The previous Foreign Secretary @DavidLammy informed me in writing that Britain would not  intervene if my sons, British citizens, are arrested when they travel to Pakistan to visit their father.

@FCDOGovUK: Britain must now speak out publicly and unequivocally. Demand that Pakistan comply with its own Supreme Court;  restore Imran Khan’s medical access, his right to see his family, end his prolonged isolation and uphold his fundamental human rights.

Pakistan is a Commonwealth country. Britain has a long and proud tradition of standing against arbitrary detention, inhumane treatment and the denial of fundamental rights. Those principles mean very little if we invoke them only selectively and neglect them when inconvenient.
This an appeal to the new Burnham government  to please now do the right thing.

@Apple At this point, I can’t help but call Apple’s so-called quality a hoax. If a $1,000+ laptop can’t even last beyond a year without collapsing, what exactly are we paying for? The logo?”

[Bia Ali @Rabia_Babar]

@Apple
For a company that brags about durability and reliability, this feels like a scam wrapped in shiny packaging. Apple keeps charging premium prices, but when their devices break for no reason, we are left footing the bill.

[Bia Ali @Rabia_Babar]

@Apple

“Apple’s ‘premium quality’ is a straight-up myth.
I bought a MacBook Air just one year ago—no drops, no spills, no accidents—and it suddenly stopped working out of nowhere. No warning, no explanation. To make it worse, I had to pay $600 just to get it fixed.

"The Dark Night of November 26-27: Eyewitness Testimonies and Evidence of State-Sponsored Violence" (all evidence in one place)

On the evening of November 26th, 2024, the government of Pakistan carried out an action that is considered barbaric and brutal in the civilized world.

In response to a massive protest announced by Imran Khan against election rigging, political victimization, and the manipulation of the courts, the Interior Minister @MohsinnaqviC42 blatantly threatened on November 25th, stating, "If our rangers open fire on the protesters, they would be dispersed in 5 minutes."

Link:
https://t.co/jqHnYMFGhT

Later, the government invoked Article 245 of the Constitution, deploying the military in the capital with "Shoot on Sight" orders if necessary.

Link:
https://t.co/738MDUkBsi

After being deployed in the capital on the night of November 25th, the military announced that "they would never open fire on their own people".

Link:
https://t.co/Wh2gM7kQhl

This gave some assurance to the protesters, who even embraced and hugged several army personnel on the containers in a show of respect.

Link:
https://t.co/BL50VUiiwH

However, at dusk on November 26th, when PTI protesters were peacefully sitting-in at D-Chowk, a brutal operation was carried out to clear the area. It did not only involve tear gas and rubber bullets but also included live fire and sniper shootings. The area’s electricity was cut off, leaving protesters disoriented and unarmed with no backup plan. As live bullets were fired from the tops of buildings, the leadership had to flee. Protesters started dispersing in panic, but several were shot during the two-hour operation, and dozens were killed. The protest was called off, and the area was reclaimed by the security forces.

The next morning, government officials falsely denied any gunfire and claimed that no PTI protesters had been killed during the cleanup operation, despite videos circulating on social media showing bullets being fired and people getting injured. Multiple videos of dead bodies surfaced, refuting these government claims.

List of Video Evidences:

In this tweet, I am putting all video evidences in the form of links that would tell the story of night between 26th and 27th Nov.

These videos and eyewitness statements, recorded by protesters and on-ground journalists, reveal how democracy and a peaceful protest were gunned down in the dark of night in Islamabad.

A. Evidence of use of the Firearms and Straight Bullets:

On the morning of 27th Nov, the government ministers Mohsin Naqvi and @TararAttaullah spoke to media and claimed that "no firearms and real bullets were used, and not a single protestor from PTI was killed".

Link:
https://t.co/vGL6azHKqd

Evidence 1. Contrary to the government's claim, multiple gunshots can be heard in this video. These sounds are not from rubber bullets but from actual firearms, such as automatic rifles and AK-47s. The people were forced to flee due to these gunshots.

Link:
https://t.co/D817MAZ6Tn

Evidence 2. A video made after the crackdown was over. It testifies how brutal was the whole operation with use of violent force.

Link:
https://t.co/QOYyUCRTYe

Evidence 3. In this video, a protester pleads with the armed forces not to use live ammunition, assuring them the protesters would retreat. However, the shooting continued.

Link:
https://t.co/jxRvmOyAlX

Evidence 4. Another video shows gunshots being fired as people flee to escape the live ammunition.

Link:
https://t.co/kx32H9t6UZ

Evidence 5. In this video, a reporter of @AJEnglish is reporting that the security forces are using automated weapons- Rifles and AK-47. While he is reporting, the gunshots can be heard in the background.

Link:
https://t.co/XPpTtnUbJ9

Evidence 6. In this video, people can be seen running into narrow streets of the area to avoid the bullets, and the security forces kept on firing while chasing them in the streets.

Link:
https://t.co/8zNavhIoY7

-----------------------------------------------------

B: Evidence of Gunshot Injuries:

Here is the evidence:

Evidence 7. In this clip, a protester shot in the leg is being rushed to the hospital by friends on a motorbike, disproving the government's claim that no gunshots were fired.

Link: https://t.co/YFRMZbIIrF

Evidence 8. In this clip, two gunshot-wounded protesters are receiving treatment in the hospital emergency. One of them has a chest tube due to a bullet causing a chest injury and pleural/lung puncture.

Link:
https://t.co/zBW1Djjs0C

Evidence 9. In this video interview by journalist @AsadAToor outside the Polyclinic hospital Islamabad, the eye witness reports that there are 15 patients inside the emergency who have been shot bullets, and there are three dead bodies in the emergency who died of the bullet injuries.
Link:
https://t.co/WXAfjxqBGE

Evidence 10. In this video, protester Malik Idrees, who was shot in the groin, can be seen wounded. This is not a "rubber bullet" as claimed by Mohsin Naqvi and Ataullah Tarar of the Pakistani government.

https://t.co/3IJdK02B03

Evidence 11. In this video, more than 10 patients with gunshot wounds can be seen in the hospital emergency, refuting claims that no firearms were used by the security forces.

Link:
https://t.co/E9Prc5hnoK
--------------------------------------------------------

C. Evidence of snipers' shots and Killing:
PTI official @sayedzbukhari claimed in an interview with international media that 40 people are confirmed dead, with the death toll expected to rise as more details emerge.
In his interview with @dwnews, he confirms this number.
Link:
https://t.co/wY6N2dHzQu

Here is the evidence:

Evidence 12. The security forces used snipers to shoot the protesters. In this video, a man was shot on his head and other protesters are trying to stop bleeding from his head. He died on the spot.

Link:
https://t.co/IV4QyDcbdP

Evidence 13. On the evening of 27th Nov, a protester praying atop an 22-25 feet high container was surrounded by four Rangers. Unarmed and unprovoking, he was thrown off the container by the Rangers, resulting in a fatal cervical injury. The incident was recorded by onsite protesters.

Link:
https://t.co/WHTXo9BXG6

Evidence 14. This is the image and funeral video of Abdul Qadir of Abbottabad - a PTI protester who was shot and killed on 26th Nov.

Link: https://t.co/2UtMXaXYfO

Evidence 15. Next is a video clip of journalist and human rights activist @MunizaeJahangir interviewing the family of 20-year-old Anees Shehzad Satti. His body was brought to Polyclinic Institute in Islamabad. The family claims he was shot by snipers from atop buildings and died instantly. This directly rebuts the government’s claim that no PTI protesters were killed.

Evidence 19. Keep counting. The death is still playing. Video of funeral of Wali Muhammad of Pasheen, Baluchistan when his dead body reached his home town.

https://t.co/HOzoImKBTx

Evidence 20. Image of Tariq Khan of Shangla who was shot dead in Islamabad.

Link:
https://t.co/SV1wJEIJ9o

Evidence 21.
This is a very tragic story. The image shows Sardar Shafeeq Khan from Dera Ghazi Khan (South Punjab), who was killed during the protest. Initially, PIMS hospital (@PIMS_ICT) asked for nearby family members from South Punjab to come and claim the body. However, when the family arrived, the hospital backed off and denied having any such body. This is further evidence of how records were suppressed under pressure, as highlighted by @guardian.

Link:
https://t.co/lerRROc5dZ

Evidence 22. Another dead body —Malik Mubeen Aurangzaib from Galiat, KPK. Brutally killed and silenced, yet his story continues to challenge the lies of the state.

Link:
https://t.co/4jZhuLsGep

Evidence 23. Next in line is Muhammad Ali, son of Gul Khan from Charsadda (KPK). His coffin asks millions of questions, debunking the lies of the state..

Link:
https://t.co/uDvLXuoYbV

Evidence 24. Another video clip shows two dead bodies at PIMS hospital (@PIMS_ICT), both victims of gunshot wounds inflicted by the security forces. The person recording the video urges the relatives to contact PIMS if they recognize the bodies.

Link:

""More than 100 militant vehicles have been destroyed, and 100 peoples' heads have been targeted and torn open by the forces. Happy Independence."

Link:
https://t.co/iLySJcXnAy

Later he tweeted the image of the army chief with a sniper aiming at a target.

Link:

https://t.co/Fqi00a7L2z
-----------------------------------------------------

D. Accounts from Local journalist, International Media and US congressmen on the Brutality.

Evidence 29. The Guardian @guardian newspaper published an article confirming 17 deaths of PTI protesters from gunshots. The report highlighted that the government is attempting to cover up these deaths by confiscating hospital records to conceal the killings. They quoted a doctor who revealed to The Guardian that

"All records of dead and injured have been confiscated by the authorities. We are not allowed to talk. Senior government officials are visiting the hospital to hide the records."

https://t.co/cQNe3OWkqD

Evidence 33: Amnesty International @amnesty called this so called "benign" operation "a brutal and lethal crackdown".

Link:
https://t.co/UNnDNT3VNX

Evidence 34. Human Rights Council of Pakistan @HRCPakistan tweeted their condemnation against the firearms use from the Security forces against the PTI protesters killing many protesters.

Link:
https://t.co/P8kQax23Wl

Evidence 35: Many congressmen and women of US Congress @congressdotgov tweeted their condemnation calling it

"Violent Repression" as said by @RepCasar who condemned the live fire by the forces,

-----------------------------------------------------

E: Confiscation and Concealment of Medical Records:

To make it more barbaric, the state pressurized the two main government hospitals of Islamabad- Polyclinic and PIMS to conceal the records and not release the dead bodies to the families so that the crime can be covered up. Even the Guardian newspaper mentioned this fact in their article. They quoted a doctor who told that

"All records of dead and injured have been confiscated by the authorities. We are not allowed to talk. Senior government officials are visiting the hospital to hide the records."

Link:
https://t.co/so2dptUl4p

Evidence 36. The Polyclinic hospital Islamabad initially released a list of 28 people who had been wounded by gunshots, of them two had expired.

Link:
https://t.co/9aSPe8iV1n

Later, when the hospitals were pressurized to confiscate the records, the hospital under pressure released a statement denying its prior announcement.

Link:
https://t.co/oRB7V6TjdE

Evidence 37. After government started hiding records and evidence and the hospitals confiscated may dead bodies. a renowned journalist @Matiullahjan919 did a story in which he tried to interview the health coordinator of the government who was asked about death tolls. This government official tried to evade the questions and ran away in his car. Matiullah Jan kept on striving hard to find the evidence and expose the malefice of the Government and PIMS hospitals.

Link:
https://t.co/H7N6ITPrJV

As a result of his activism, at 11 pm on 27th Nov, he was abducted by "unknown masked" people allegedly from the intelligence agencies, and has been missing since then. His son tweeted about this incident using the X account of his father.

Link:
https://t.co/AdDKQuprSO

Evidence 38. I will finish this dark account of horrific 27th Nov Night by mentioning the narration of an eye witness who is a Civil Servant, @RashdiSuleman serving as "Civil Servant in Information Ministry". He lives near D-Chowk Area (protest area). Today he resigned from his job as a protest because he eye witnessed the brutality of the government of Pakistan.

In his interview with Matiullah Jan (few hours before Matiullah was abducted), Suleman Shah Rashdi narrates what he saw on 26th Nov evening. He mentions he saw he heard dozen of bullet fires, and when he came out of his apartment, he saw PTI protesters with gun shot wounds in their legs.

Link of Rashdi Interview:
https://t.co/QqUxK44OBA

Later, Rashdi posted his resign as a protest on X stating that he cannot serve a tyrant government.

Link of Resignation:
https://t.co/WQFjoGljG2

Summary:

This is so unfortunate that I had to write such a long thread just to prove that the dead are truly dead. Imagine the agony of dozens of families who, instead of mourning their loved ones, are forced to prove to this fascist government that their relatives were killed in this massacre. Yes, I am using the term massacre because over 40 people have been confirmed dead, and reports suggest that more than 100 are still missing—families believe they are dead, with their bodies likely in state-run hospitals.
In this digital age, a single death cannot be hidden, and here we are talking about over 40 deaths. If this is not a massacre, then what is? On the cold, dark night of November 26-27, not only were people gunned down, but the very foundation of Pakistan's Constitution was also violated:

Article 15: Freedom of movement
Article 16: Freedom of peaceful assembly
Article 17: Freedom of association and union
Article 19: Freedom of expression

A regime born from fascism resorted to fascist tactics to survive.

I have provided all the evidence in the most comprehensive way possible. In any civilized society, these clips would be enough to prosecute those responsible for these heinous crimes. These bullets will leave an indelible scar on the face of Pakistan's current hybrid regime. On the dark night of November 27th, democracy was gunned down in Pakistan.

#IslamabadMassacare
#PakistanUnderFascism

(This article is the result of thorough research and dedication. If you come across any additional video evidence or unreported killings, please share in the comments. This is my tribute to those silenced in the fight for democracy)
