“Chart of the day: #Discretionary

The more times a trendline is tested, the more closely technicians may monitor that level if it is ultimately broken.

Following a failed breakdown near yearly lows, the #ConsumerDiscretionary sector relative to #SPX appears to have broken above a year-long descending trendline, a development technicians may view as a potential improvement in relative strength.

Technicians may keep a close watch on this group, as periods of absolute outperformance are often preceded by improving relative strength.
