To the people of Illinois: thank you for your trust in me once again.
I choose to fight for our state, our country, our world -- and the fight my mother never gave up on.
And I'm thrilled to work alongside you for four more years as your Governor.
Honored to accompany @ToniPreckwinkle to the White House today to commemorate the passage of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act.

We will not go back. I’m determined to help Illinois remain a safe haven for all people seeking reproductive freedom. Today’s decision will not stop abortions from happening, it will motivate us to keep fighting.
Illinois in 2019 established in state law the right to reproductive health care, including abortion - a measure put in place should Roe v. Wade be overturned. Pritzker in Dec. also signed a law stopping minors from having to give parental notification before having an abortion.
"Do you intend to be like Oklahoma or Texas? Or will you be like Illinois, where we trust women to make their own decisions about their own bodies," Pritzker says.
‘I’ve spent a lot of time having to prove that I believe in humanity’ — These Black women prosecutors created a network of support as they navigate a predominately white profession
#BuildBackBetter includes major investments in home care, childcare, paid leave, climate and protections for millions of immigrants. As @JoeBiden said — let’s get the full House vote week of 11/15 & on to the Senate! Our fight continues and, together, we will win. #CareCantWait
Passing infrastructure = important investments in public transportation, clean water, broadband + climate resilience. Now, let’s finish the job of lifting up all working families with the full #BuildBackBetter vision, started by tonight’s rule.
Reframing the narrative on Kim Foxx is why we do this work. I’ve seen too much reporting parroting statements from the mayor and the police that blame this woman for Chicago’s violence. A police department under consent decree should not be driving narratives on “reform.”
As publications prepare their end of year murder tally, it would be helpful to contextualize the data. How does it compare to previous decades? What are the driving forces? Or are we going to keep with the narrative that it's 1 person's fault?
