It’s not everyday that a stranger thanks you for ‘ruining their life’. In this Frankly, I reflect on a powerful encounter with a venture capitalist whose life was upended - and ultimately enriched - after immersing himself in the podcast.

Perilous times on planet Earth: This fall, we published the 2024 State of the Climate Report. We start by saying "We are on the brink of an irreversible climate disaster." Read all of it here: https://t.co/iylKXfy36I @ECOWARRIORSS@RogerHallamCS21
@drvolts That is heartbreaking David. We share your grief about the country and about losing our beloved companions, who give us so much. Love and sympathy from Hershey, PA.
Please note, unlike other leading newspapers, the @PhillyInquirer is not owned by a billionaire plutocrat, but rather, a non-profit. That's why we can count on them for unvarnished commentary like this from my good friend @WillBunch:
May I say a word for the Democratic Party for all its faults?
It is the Republican Party that nominated Trump three times, that gave way to Trump, that supports and enables Trump.
The Democratic Party in opposition could have done better. But at least they were in opposition.
I estimate more than a dozen climate-related national TV interviews canceled last minute during final few months of the election owing to "breaking news" (typically related to Trump).
So yeah, we TRIED to make climate an issue in the election. The media didn't give us any help.
Dems have spent the past 8 years destroying the one movement that could have saved them. Bernie's class first populism won over exactly the type of voters (Latinos, working class, bros, Joe Rogan!) that Dems now repel. https://t.co/LhfSDK5pUb
It’s 7 November, Donald Trump has just been elected, people are walking around a balmy, drought-ridden New York in shorts and scientists have announced it is virtually certain 2024 will be the hottest ever recorded https://t.co/HS46qg36OS
In Europe's parliamentary systems, the Green parties do stuff--pass laws, work on local politics. They don't just show up every 4 years for a vanity run at the top job.
Because they're actually serious, they're calling on Jill Stein to withdraw from the race.
This is the most consequential election in our lifetimes.
Many of you have differences of opinion with @KamalaHarris on Gaza. So do I.
But we cannot sit this election out. Trump has got to be defeated.

Carbon capture instead of stopping oil & gas
EVs instead of reducing car dependency
Ocean cleanups instead of stopping plastic production
Planting trees instead of ending deforestation
Ever notice how all the fashionable 'solutions' are all aimed at not changing anything?
