We currently pay £1.5 billion a year to switch wind farms off when it's too windy.
Rachel Fletcher from Octopus Energy has just told Parliament that could soar to £10 BILLION by 2030.
Ed Miliband is writing cheques for wind farm developers before the grid can move their energy to where it’s needed.
This is a political choice and it is making electricity expensive.
Government needs to wake up to what their plans are doing to our energy prices and make electricity cheap.
@sinton_alison@roseveniceallan I needed to be induced with my first and they absolutely did not want me to have an epidural. I point blank refused till they gave me one!! My other two were also born by c-section. My pain after was ignored (found out later it was gall stones). And they left me without morphine!
@LwtEmmaBird@markrwilliamson@CambsCC Then ridiculous. Governments need to find ways of sorting this all out and prioritising children. It’s a disgrace. We had a similar issue in Bromley where the school had to set up elsewhere till planning and the building was complete. DofE signed it off but not local council 🤷♀️
@LwtEmmaBird@markrwilliamson@CambsCC If it’s as a result of the VAT, there is no way they could plan. The council would have had to go by GVMT figures and they were wholly wrong in terms of what happened.
@ChrisMi94378056@Ka1idor_369@Dr_Ellie We are going through the process of getting my son a diagnosis. We have waited a long time to ensure it wasn’t just him being a boy/summer born, etc. my son is 14 and has never had social media and phone is fully restricted for all obvious reasons.
@Starbored3@skisidjames But the private schools paid in to that though so no issue. It was allowed so that teachers could easily transfer between state and private and their pension would remain the same, not the case now.
@CF_Farrow Also, this is a great interview and really touches on the history in Greece and how it connects to us and what it has done for us. I studied classics at school but not this side, it’s obviously a huge topic. It’s just a different part of history and hugely important!
@CF_Farrow In Lewisham, one of the private schools were offering Latin to select kids from surrounding state schools. Not sure if that still happens now. It was a great initiative. State schools can’t fund the teachers, not everyone wants to study it so it was well done.
