right, but it is also possible to congratulate someone on a pregnancy you were told about WITHOUT mentioning her body. “congratulations on your pregnancy” is different than “omg your bump!”

an unmedicated cervical biopsy/colposcopy is still one of the worst pains i’ve ever experienced. leave it to a man to claim that inserting a needle into the cervix to scrape and excise a piece of live tissue is “uneventful” to the patient is idiotic in the extreme.

@joshmcgoo The issue is that for most patients, insertion/removal is totally uneventful with just foundational analgesia by mouth.
Same for endometrial biopsies, LEEP, cervical biopsies at colposcopy, etc.

So it would be inefficient over-treatment to routinely do differently.

Michael Phelps is literally referred to as a freak of nature because of his disproportionate wingspan, double jointed ankles, lung capacity twice that of an average human, body that produces half the lactic acid of a typical athlete, and he is rightly celebrated for being the greatest male swimmer in history. Meanwhile, female athletes with genetic differences are legally discriminated against and harassed to no end. This is not about “protecting women in sports” - this is about protecting a very specific idea of what a woman is.
