step 2: look for "Search Services History"
if you don't see it yet it's rolling out gradually. in the meantime:
— open Web & App Activity
— uncheck "Include voice and audio activity"
— uncheck "Include Visual Search History"

step 3: when Search Services History appears
— click on it
— turn off "Save Media"

step 4: delete what's already there
go to https://t.co/rRmJqz0p8A → Delete activity by → All time → Search Services

this deletes existing saved media. opting out alone only stops future collection.

what this affects:
Google Lens photos. voice searches. files uploaded to Translate. Gemini Live audio. anything you actively submit to Google's search tools.

what this doesn't affect:
Google Photos. regular text searches.

the opt-out takes 2 minutes.

set a reminder to check again after any Google account update.

they have reset these settings before.
