Abdul went to inspect the govt school in Bengal where he once studied. He lost his father after they were attacked by goons (allegedly from BJP) for speaking up about the poor condition of govt schools.

It makes my blood boil that people are being murdered simply for demanding better schools.

मैं अपने जीवन का आधा हिस्सा जी चुका हूँ, फिर भी मुझे बाबा साहेब डॉ. बी. आर. आंबेडकर से बड़ा देशभक्त कोई नहीं मिला।

जब देश की बात आई, तो उन्होंने कहा, “मैं पहले भारतीय हूँ और अंत में भी भारतीय हूँ।”

जब लोकतंत्र की बात आई, तो उन्होंने उसके अस्तित्व पर मंडरा रहे खतरों को लेकर गहरी चिंता व्यक्त की और चेतावनी दी, “भारत ने एक बार लोकतांत्रिक व्यवस्था खो दी थी। क्या वह दूसरी बार भी अपना लोकतंत्र खो देगा?”

और जब भारत के विभाजन की बात आई, तो उन्होंने उसका पुरजोर विरोध किया। उन्होंने इस विषय पर एक महत्वपूर्ण ग्रंथ लिखा। स्वतंत्रता के बाद हैदराबाद के पाकिस्तान में विलय के प्रयास का भी उन्होंने जमकर विरोध किया।

सबसे बढ़कर, उनका जीवन और उनका जीवन-संघर्ष यह दिखाते हैं कि वे देश की जनता की गहरी चिंता करते थे, देश के प्रति उनका समर्पण सर्वोच्च दर्जे का था और लोकतंत्र की रक्षा के लिए वे पूरी तरह प्रतिबद्ध थे।
