@jimstewartson The early entry into the Nasdaq100 doesn’t even happen for 2 weeks, and the S&P500 entry isn’t for like a yr. So who are these forced buyers?
The debt owed was the solution and open competition contracts he delivered on.
He forces EVs to success despite all the naysayers, fact a new American auto company hadn’t been successful in reaching scale in like 60-100 years or whatever it was since Jeep, and all Auto Companies to follow. The DEMOCRAT-LED government then created CUSTOMER tax credits to push EV. Every company had an equal right to the same number of credits. At first it was actually a hard cap per manufacturer! The carbon credits were in the form of stricter emission rules that allowed non compliant companies to bypass the fines and instead pay the compliant companies for their credits. This was an excellent method for the government to use to punish those failing to meet their (made up) emissions standards, and reward those who were successful, all at Zero Gov spending. So again the government wanted something, and Tesla delivered. They pushed forward the entire auto industry to adopting EVs.
SpaceX government contracts were all for launches or deliverables. And they’ve delivered at substantially less (go look up GAO estimates, Tens of billions in savings) than their competitors. Which is why just about every time there is an open competition for contracts they win. SpaceX has become the globally dominant launcher and operating space. They got their through launch contracts, but the success was due to their competence.
Why?
Elon has made possible:
1. Mass market electric cars that people actually like, and Tesla continues to sell over a million of them a year.
2. Returned the US to space through SpaceX. No more relying on Russia like we were for a while.
3. Fixed the rural internet problem with Starlink. I know people who have fast internet in their rural areas for the first time in their lives thanks to this. A problem the government wanted to waste billions to "solve," instead resolved by a private company.
4. Massive expansion of home solar.
5. Neuralink is doing very cool work and helping disabled people.
6. Bought Twitter, which while far from perfect, is the only big social media platform to not be outright hostile to conservative views, and a big change from its prior bias.
And that's not even everything.
If Elon were still Democrat-aligned, he'd be a God to them. He's done more for green energy than any other single person, and it's not even close.
They hate him because of his politics. They'd rather we didn't have those accomplishments, than a non-Democrat/Progressive like Elon get to take credit for them.
I'm glad he's a trillionaire, and wish he could pay less taxes. His money is put to far more productive use than letting our government waste it on nonsense.
@fool_roo@JasonKander So the Dem led government at the time chose to universally offer customer credits if they bought EVs, and THAT is what made Musk a trillionaire and bad person that should have his wealth confiscated? interesting.
@joecarlsonshow Maybe if Social Security could invest (in a non-voting manner) in these companies and what makes America so successful, it wouldn't be facing insolvency...
Does "change the rules" = not steal/confiscate someones ownership in a company he founded? Cause he owns shares in a company he created and hasn't sold them. The value of the company is worth >$1.75T right now. No rules were changed for this to occur. You just don't like how successfull he was.
Only real difference here is SpaceX was able to stay private for so long that it IPOd at this this high of a price.
You are smarter than this Ro. Imagine if Bernie had taxed @elonmusk 100% on his PayPal capital gains. We would have no @Tesla or @SpaceX - none of those jobs or GDP. Who do you think allocated the capital better for society? He will already pay $100 B + in taxes - more than any human ever. I hope he donates some to kids via @TrumpAccounts to make every kid a shareholder in 🇺🇸 & continues investing all his heart, soul & money for the benefit of America & all humanity! 🇺🇸🚀🤍
@FREESPEECH1017@TMFAssociates Well we will see if that purchase in Louisiana goes through. Or if they eventually revive their original planned sea launch+catch
